Haley has said she warms up by making "mermaid sounds". I got to hear a sample of that once when she was warming up at sound check before a show in Seattle, like the siren song to lure sailors to wreck on the rocks :P . I posted a clip of it on Twitter if you want to hear what I _think_ is her mermaid sound warm up by searching "@haleystusk mermaid sounds" on Twitter.

Yes!!! Jessica Rabbit!! If you don't know the reference, look it up. Haley doesn't sing a song, she performs it, especially with PMJ. The music style is "New Orleans Dirge", a blend of Jazz/Blues. PMJ's thing is taking modern songs and turning them into 30's 40's and 50's sounds. Scott Bradlee is the founder, leader, head arranger, and piano player. The band members vary as he invites different musicians and vocalist to perform with them. If you haven't already, check out Post Modern Jukebox featuring Haley Reinhart doing Radiohead's "Creep". you won't be disappointed.

As Haley Reinhart, the music artist herself, is the one who made her version of Creep great irrespective of PMJ. In fact, months before Haley ever recorded Creep, Karen Marie recorded Creep utilizing the same exact PMJ arrangement. That Karen Marie version today has as approximately 2.7 million views, which is more or less typical for most PMJ music videos. Meanwhile, Haley Reinhart's version with the same exact PMJ arrangement has in excess of 103 million KZfaq views. So stop trying to blame your lame excuse for flooding and inundating every Haley Reinhart reaction video on PMJ. As this guy wasn't blown away by PMJ. He was blown away by Haley Reinhart and if you watched his reaction video you know it too. So again, stop your lame excuses employed as a smokescreen to hijack and co-opt every freaking Haley Reinhart reaction video thread to lobby for lesser music artists who can't generate KZfaq reaction videos on their own because they are not good enough.

If you liked this you really need to listen to blues in the night it will blow your mind only because I never imagined the woman who brought me to tears with over the rainbow could possibly do this.i would suggest you watch over the rainbow first to remind yourself how tender and light her voice was.

I think the biggest difference in approach between classical and modern singing is that classical singing takes a prescriptive approach to technique than modern singing.

Haley was taught to scat by her father BEFORE she couls speak. I guess rhythmic babbling? In the end, she's done it all her life, so it just rolls out like water.

The LA times said Haley took a dismal (which it is) song I made it worth listening to.
