Really appreciate this overview. I've been a long time poe player from hardcore only back now to softcore. I think there are a lot of oversights that I understood more from watching this. Will try this build as my opener in Heist.

I used Harvest as my first real attempt at a melee character. Evolved from a dual wield axes Gladiator with max bleed/impale, to a max block sword and board. Went from leveling Bladestorm and Vaal Dbl Strike for bosses, to giving in with Cyclone, and finally after completing my gear I'm really enjoying Perforate! Good thing about melee gems is they're interchangeable.

Thanks alot for this guide, I have had PoE in my library for about a year but it was all too daunting to play. I followed your guide basically 100% to a tee and I am at endgame now having a blast. Which version of PoB are you using? I tried importing the pastebin with the latest version (v.1.4.710) and it kicked up an error message saying the build I was trying to import used an unrecognized version of the skill tree.

Have you considered Phase Run on this? I have a similar build I was looking to use, and Phase Run looks like a really good option since you have infinite Frenzy generation with Terminus to make the 30% more damage last longer.

I'd used both the Terminus as well as dual wielding Ahn's Might in a previous league. I'd be interested in seeing how they hold up since the dual Wielding nerf.

Highly recommend using Rage support with Bladestorm. It stacks super duper fast because the sandstorms from Bladestorm do give stacks of Rage. So while other skills take ages to get 50 stacks, you can get 50 stacks of Rage with Bladestorm really damn fast.

Thanks for the Terminus Est tip, Big Ducks. I had an Impale Cyclone Champ from years ago and opened it up again to have a look. He was using two swords which were complete rubbish - flat elemental damage bonuses, and so on. I also found a Terminus Est in my stash which I'd kept at the time 'just in case'. It had one green socket so I got out the Jewelers Orbs in expectation of a long session. Boom, third Jewelers and I get six sockets. Not only that but they were three red, two green and one blue - the exact combo you recommend. What are the chances of that? Of course, only three of the sockets are linked but I reckon it shouldn't take more than 20 Fusings or so to fix that. As you can see, pessimism isn't one of my problems. :D

I played HoT Autobomber in Harvest and died enough times for two leagues. So yes, I'll defenitely play one of the more tanky builds out there, Duelist seems to be a good start for this.

Run slayer ascendancy. The slayer leech is an insane defensive layer, and if you go champion for impale instead just use the soul tether clothe belt, it also gives the slayer leech perk

The past 2 days i've rehearsed leveling a cyclone impale champion in standard; following the "Navandis Gaming" build guide. It certainly differs by using bleeding in conjuction with impale via the cluster jewel node "Vicious Skewering" ( increased effect of impales inflicted by hits that are also inflicting bleeding ). Compared to that guide it i prefer ur way of leveling ( with Bladestorm ) to reach maps. I had also no idea of this weapon vendor recipe which is worth gold!!! Thank u for that.

I did a cyclone champion build in Harvest and yes it is strong and just shred through everything. I preferred dual banners so I picked that instead of the other ascendancy and I needed an unique chest and i need unwavering stance. Maybe I also start as a duelist to become a champion to try out the new steel skills... I think the base you showed in here could also work for those skills... I would add iron grip and maybe impaler is good for those steel skills... And if it is crap i can easy reskill

Get an "item level 83 Warlord Exquisite Blade" Base. Quality it to 30% with "Perfect Fossil". Use "Deafening Essence of Zeal", then either try to anull or in case u fail: start over With the Essence again. If Successful: "Multimod". And u are done.

The expensive version of the build contains a "curse enemies with assassins mark on hit" ring, afaik this was replaced by "trigger assassins mark when you hit a rare or unique enemy" - is it actually still worth it? (assuming my knowledge is correct)

i noticed in the PoB it has blood and sand in the skills as well but its not on the buffs at the top of the screen. I see it is equipped when you were looking for dread banner though.

Nice video with explanations. Do I just suck or is it generally much harder to start with melee skills other than the mentioned skills / new old Slams (destroy act bosses) ? I've tried Viper / Pestilent Strike, Wild Strike (as Scion - because) Frost Blades - updated weapons and it seems I die a lot without Decoy Totem to bosses like Shavronne (Harvest) / Doedre. I do not see pros using Decoy Totem much. I've cleared Sirus 8 on Cyclone so I am wondering if I should just stay clear of aoe centric skills as melee while leveling in general. Maybe I need to throw in more defensive auras as well. I wonder how people get past certain act bosses as melee in HC.

Man i love your room lighting. Can you tell me what type of light setup you have? Awesome video by the way, this game is so daunting and i played cyclone once on Ps4 but i don't like how there's no in-game trade on PC like there is on ps4 :( I don't like the warframe style trading, on ps4 you can just purchase things like a vendor from other player's listings i'ts actually great albeit shitty filter :P

hi, I play on PS4 and want to get trophies got stuck on red map bosses and decided to try something else I picked up dual wield slayer and doing fine so far but I am seeing paywall in future as the slayer dual sword build I am following needs items that are 7ex+. I randomly clicket on this video and I have to say I like your explanation and even more like your PoB link as it has all those different sections everywhere and is easy to follow. If I fail this league to get my trophies I think I will go with your build in standard using currency and items I will gather. Again great job on that PoB its the best I have seen so far... And question if I may, what are the big differences between Slayer and Champion? Can I change to your build with my Slayer or it would be better to start new char after league ends in standard?

Trying this build out now and its going smoothly, thanks. 1 question, you mention crit chance on the sword and have crit and crit-multi on some of your gear but you have Resolute Technique in your tree which prevents crits? am I missing something?

You remove Resolute Technique once you beat uber lab and the last ascendency where mobs you taunt give you 100% hit chance

Terminus Est has been a semi secret weapon for ages now. Because people can't math. Yes it does less base damage than many things you can find on the ground but not once you multiply that by speed and crit factors ... then you get Starforge damage.

I'm relatively new to the game and so far tried like 12 builds, the only 2 builds that truly worked for me were the ones posted by Big Ducks (Ball Lightning ascendant and Creeping Frost), I was successfully able to destroy harvest end game with both those builds on a budget (started playing harvest league 4 weeks before league end and didn't even understood power of harvest until the last week of the league and made myself 2 explody chests :))) ), when I use builds posted by somebody else they look insane but 0 wiggle room for gear, you constantly die to the point of rage-quitting the game if you miss out on certain super expensive jewels. So I will try this cyclone build, coz other cyclone builds I tried with assassin were ONE shooting everything on site, but at the same time could die from random white mob one shot projectile. BTW Big Ducks you should've started with Ball Lightning Ascendant instead of creeping frost, I was destroying heists on a budget before nerf and it is easy walk in a park after nerf, with my other 3 builds I didn't even bother getting the heist target coz I was getting one/two shotted like you in your videos :)

Yeah still viable. You can't just run around with it on left click with 100% uptime anymore, you need keep track of it when you're bossing. It's not a "get out of jail oh shit" button anymore.

@@bawalbaba3321 The reason people run this on left click is the endurance charge generation. And you can still do that after the nerf. It will just take longer to generate the charges (for example when you enter a new instance or when they are consumed by something). In this build you really only "need" the endurance charges during leveling to fix shortcomings with your resistances. Once that isn't an issue anymore enduring cry becomes basically a life flask that runs on loop. With the new 8s cooldown you're probably better off to use it actively when you need the life flask effect. But if you're lazy you can still just keep it on left click with no issue.

When you run a crit build and use gear that generates frenzy charges, why would you use a normal quicksilver flask instead of a well rolled Rotgut unique flask? That gives you more movement speed as well as onslaught with longer duration than other flasks do.

I am using this build, im level 80 have full links, ascendsy, forceful skewering, and dread banner but the tool tip only shows 60% chance to impale. Am i missing something? According the the guide i shoukd be at 100% impale chance. Any advice would help. Thanks

if you download Path of Building, which can be found in the description, you can access everything(skill tree, items, skills, etc) you need for the build in an easy to use interface otherwise, if you don't wish to download Path of Building you can usually find the build in Big Ducks' dicord server(these will be pictures)

I was having the same issue so i downloaded the community branch of POB. Make sure you click on IMPORT/EXPORT BUILD and IMPORT FROM PASTEBIN. that solved it for me.
