Today absolutely blew my mind. Our friend Robbie hit me up & invited us up to hang out & see if the Seatreak Ferry heading ferm NJ to NY was surfable. We discovered that not only was it surfable, but it was potentially the biggest, best & cleanest ferry wave we've seen yet!? I'm claiming that we barely scratched the surface of this wave & this could be the best ferry wave of all time. This NJ to NY ferry is a dream! Huge thanks to Robbie, Chris & Owen for an epic time!

Yeah, I grew up in the area and know that Ferry Ride really well. You're not the only one to go to the wrong location Ben haha!! Now that Ben has a ski he could drop in behind the ferry at the Statue of Liberty. That would be a great shot!!

There's a great little Android app called Marine Traffic that shows you the type, size, and direction of larger boats and ships. Should be able to find a grail of sorts with that. At least for that type of novelty wave.

Grew up right near there! Owned a condo right across street when I was in my 20s. All our surf spots growing up were right over the bridge!! Never in a million years would think about surfing the ferry back then! Now every single wave I see I think is surfable!!!

There is one there on the PA side then on the jerz side there is a mud flat before the refinery just about across from "that island". Lol. It's gotta be low tide. Preferably mid to low it'll break. Especially on northbound vessels. The wave going one way with tide the other gets a better shape. And it's better during low water times when there isn't a good rain. It's tough to pin the river down. Allot of ships don't break. Im trying to find a spot further south cause the shops move quicker then up north.

Stoked ya made it up to my home town. For about 25 years I lived just down river past Twin Lights Lighthouse, and the bridge . I saw East Point a few times here perched on top of the hill. Grew up surfing the Hook to your right. Glad ya got some good ones If ya get a good northern swell sometime come up n surf this area. Big cove at the Hook will still hold a bigger swell. Long ride if it's connecting to the inside. You blew that Lil Gremmy's mind

One more try...Hudson River, when a tanker is pushin' downriver on an incoming tide. Bring the ski, Poughkeepsie to the City dreamer. Potentially longest wave ever ridden (that's probably never been ridden/rode?)

Sweet! There a wave like that with the Hingham-Boston Ferry. In the late 90’s we tried to surf it, but the captain shit himself and just idled out of port. Every time we WERN’T in the water, he’d hammer it.

@@BenGravyy there is an app called discord which is where there is a lot of gamers, and you can make servers in which there are text channels, like a group chat, and voice channels, so people physically talk to each other in the server itself, it is really cool!
