‘Biggest con’: Linda Burney’s ‘disastrous’ speech that could sink the Voice

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Indigenous Australians Minister Linda Burney gave “the most disastrous speech” at the National Press Club in an attempt to try to sell the Voice.
He said there is no excuse for a speech so “sloppy, and irrational and deceitful” after Ms Burney tried to “guilt trip” Australians to back the Voice.
“It was so bad, I wonder if it’s going to kill the Voice for good,” Mr Bolt said.
“But Burney’s biggest con today came when she tried to tackle a great fear about this Voice that it could go nuts,” Mr Bolt said.
“Australia risks making a shocking mistake that will change this country forever.”

I am indigenous, as an elder I live in Victoria, and live on mine own I don't get any help at all from anyone, I am sick of hearing about the voice, Linda Burney is to busy worried about the voice, instead of getting our money back from the crooks, who stole money from the Aboriginal Community Benefit Fund that went into liquidation last year, I haven't heard what is happening with that, are those crooks in jail who knows I sure would like to know, Linda Burney wants to wake up, the voice will do nothing for me, we already have senators in parliament that's good enough for me, Vote no

Perfectly said!! 👍👍👍👍 Because, for YEARS, the Indigenous have banged on about wanting "reconcilliation" and for all of us to become ONE Nation. So, how is that possible when their "Voice" in Parliament will be based upon the perpetual division of race and culture? We already have ONE system of Govt for ALL Australians - of which we also all share an equal opportunity for representation, or, to represent - and as this has been adequate for Australia, it should also be adequate for the Indigenous as well!! I will NEVER support any process that gives special treatment/advantage to any cohort at the expense of others purely on the basis of race or culture!! To do so would be to deny those great tenets of Australian society: "A fair go for all!!" and "mateship"!! 👍

It’s about directing things more efficiently to get better outcomes, not necessarily giving handouts. Example: battered women in a remote aboriginal town might let The Voice know of their plight, then The Voice can tell the parliament and the government then has a clear mandate to go and fix it up without being accused of racism. Without it, if the government tell the cops to arrest the ‘things that batter’, it’ll look like racism (thus, the govt wouldn’t do that). I think it could well get positive results. It’s not about welfare handouts.

@MRxr400 - You got it spot-on.
