Lil sneaky tip for beginners The closer to the inner edge to your grip, the faster the next shot will go, no matter the angle But the closer to the outer edge it is, the stronger and further the shot goes, however it is not accurate Next: although a very high shot is tempting, don't go for it unless your opponent is not used to it, it sets up for a perfect smash for the opponent Next only give high shots when you need to By this i mean the normal high shot It's easy and sometimes leads into a smash by the opponent It's risky but if the opponent responds the same way, go for the point Go for angled or low shots Next, aim for the head No like literally Trying to hit a shot going for your body is harder than it seems and with a smash, very hard to react Next, a jump does not increase your ability to smash, it just gives you more range Next don't be afraid to move around as when i started,i was tall (198cm) and i just jump to hit high shots often leading to me sending extremely high shots or missing entirely Trying to grow out of this habit Next throwing your racket in hopes of deflecting a shot out of range in a last ditch effort is a *terrible* idea Tested it myself Lastly if you need practice for quicker reaction speeds The wall is your best friend Any tall large flat wall will do just start with a high powered serve or an overhead high hit to get started and see how many you can get before you get tired or miss (Personal record is 23...im in the top 5 in my school, we just don't know who's the best since we play casually and don't actually play 1v1s often) Lastly 2: if all else fails, go for your opponents balls, this is the one circumstance where throwing your racket works As this will injure them enough to probably not play again

A good tip if you wanna block more smashes on defense, squat down more with your eyes up, this makes it look like the shuttle is going in slo mo, making it easier to defend, no matter how fast it is.

Nice one. Do you have anything to break down the forehand clear as well. The very basic as to how the wrist is flicked to make the racquet face perpendicular to the shuttle to hit it very clean.

Hi Ankur, thanks for the suggestion. We’ve got a video coming up shortly on how to use the wrist/fingers in badminton so hopefully that will help. We haven’t looked at the overhead clear yet but we can put that on our video list 👍.
