MegaMike As a Sonic main, I used to SD a lot because of how you can't use specials offstage other than Up B. A single Down Air (whether it misses or not) can also result in a SD unless you have a jump, an air dodge, an Up B, and catlike reflexes.

It was really unnecessary with how vicious they were to that game and watch. As a commentator, one should show a sense of professionalism when commentating a match. Sure, a quick joke about it would have been fine, but then they decided to keep going and just come across as assholes.

J P Yes. When Hero selects “Kaclang” from his menu of spells, he turns into metal and becomes completely invulnerable to 99.9% of all attacks for a small amount of time. So trying to hit him with a down smash while he’s metal will not work. So the person playing as Lucas just waited. He charged his down smash just long enough for the Hero to leave his metal phase. When the Hero became vulnerable to attacks again, the Lucas player released his down smash attack. Lucas hits Hero on the first frame after he exits metal mode, KOing him. Here’s the thing though: Lucas’ down smash has some startup lag. This means that there is a brief split second between when the player releases the controller button and when the attack connects. In the case of Lucas’s down smash, 19 FRAMES in the game must go by between when the controller button is released and when the attack finally connects and does damage. So in this particular case, the player released Lucas’s down smash exactly (or almost exactly) 19 FRAMES before Hero stopped being metal. And on the 20th frame (which is the very, very first frame that the Hero stopped being metal, and the very, very first frame that down smash does damage) the attack connected. That’s why you hear the announcers saying “first frame!” after the attack. It is literally perfectly timed. Does that make sense?

I feel like he knows that it lasts about 1 fully charged smash attack and he also used a move with a hitbox that is active for a lot of frames, that way, even if he's a little early the hitbox will still be active and connect.

As a wise man once said(ok it was Pjiggles) just prepare ur smash after like 2 seconds and then stare at hero, and as soon as u see him finish, release the button

It's not that hard. Just wait about two seconds then charge, then you can kill on reaction.
