My respect goes to squeezy for the Art kit she took time to read the paperwork and look inside the kit. A chilled out young lady with huge respect for her elders.

A little (okay, lengthy, because I know you can’t pass up a historical marker!) history on the Finesilver van. I grew up just down the hill from Mr. Finesilver. My older brother said he was a very kind man. In 1976 when he was 16, my brother flipped our Pagoda Green 4 speed Borg Warner 289 ci 64-1/2 Mustang just a few houses up from Mr. Finesilvers home. That actually might have been how he first met Mr. Finesilver. “My” Mustang (who was I kidding, I was 12) kissed the curb sideways, just fast enough to flip it on it’s driver’s side but not upside down. The unibody was so bent that there was a crimp in the dashboard just above the cigarette lighter socket. The driver’s door frame was so bent that it would still open perfectly but it would swing down and hit the pavement before it would open all the way. Not a pane of glass broke. It was a pitiful sight. He wanted to run it hard because mom had just traded it in to Superior Pontiac for a “plastic equipped 1973 Gutless Supreme. Then she made the mistake of leaving the keys behind. When the neighbors came running to the house and said “your brother is hurt” I asked, BUT HOW’s The Mustang? I was obsessed with it and It was one of the first 500 sold in Texas. I was born four months after we got it. The trauma is probably why I became a car hoarder! So back to Finesilver. He closed down the factory many decades ago and several years ago it was repurposed into offices, retail, art galleries and loft apartments. When the I-10 West elevated off ramp was built downtown they had such little space it had to be built directly across a narrow, one way street right across from the Finesilver building. You could almost see the workers making work shirts through the second floor factory windows as you went by. It is a 50 mph curve and D.O.T. MEANS it! It’s so notorious for flipping big rigs who “reckon 60mph is aight” that for many decades all of the local news stations have called it the “Finesilver curve “. The photograph of the Van was taken inside the building where it has lived since it came from either Jordan Ford or Red McCombs. I believe it is still on display there now. Still witnessing big rig turnovers, jackknifes, drunks and unsuspecting hot rodders, right outside those double doors.

Squeezy was lost in her on world. That was me as a kid now I have a granddaughter the same way. Art is a way to escape. That was wonderful gifts.

On the Ultrasonic cleaner I bet I can make you laugh, I use my wife's grand parents old house for my reloading and workshop it's an old stucco house with very low ceilings and very well insulated. Well I tried the Pinesol trick in my cleaner on some cruddy sockets it was pretty strong in there, eyes burning had to abandon the lil house went back in next morning and still pretty strong finally had to put the Jeanie back in the bottle😂 the old musty house still smells fresh after 3 weeks 🤣🤣🥴🤭🤣🤣🤣

Ok, I get to go back to my high school days! Breaker 1-9 is channel 19 on the dial, it was used as a common or open channel, primarily used when you were on the highway. The meter is used to find the strongest signal. As a young'en We (friends & I)would use the C/B to find others to hang with!

Swr meter is used to set the standing wave correctly to the CB so that you don’t burn out the finals. You adjust the standing wave low, as low as you can 0 is perfect, on channel 20, 1 and 40 should be probably 2.5 max. You should mount your antennas to the outside of the mirror’s preferably as close to 7’ tip to tip that’s the perfect setup if you can achieve it.

I've used those Dash Top covers on my Lincoln MK VII and 78 ElCamino along with installing a couple for oyher folks. . Darn good product, IMHO. You may need to trim some edges but the fit is usually really good. Just like body and paint work, thorough prep is the key.
