Күн бұрын

Today we're showing you guys the biggest leaf cleanup that we've ever done! This leaf cleanup took us all day Saturday with 3 guys, and man was it a massive job!
How much would you guys charge (AND GET!) for a job like this? I personally enjoying doing a handful of smaller properties versus one large site like this, but at the end of the day, it was a profitable day for us and that's all that matters!
Don't forget to give Ryan and William a follow on their newer KZfaq channel!

Hey Brian, love the Chanel!!! I have an idea for a video for you You should do a video on what you do to your equipment to winterize it! This is what l do I run stabilizer through all me equipment a month before putting it away Then l power wash all the equipment Then l sharpen all the blades The l paint all the decks 2 coats with a rust paint Then any mower with straight fuel l run the tank dry and for mix fuel machines I fill up the tanks with stabilizer and fuel Then take all the batteries out of all the mowers And park everything in the trailers and lock them up for the winter And we change the oil in the spring That’s what l do to winterize my lawn care equipment You should do a equipment put away video Take care all the best

I'm working on a 5acre property right now by myself. It's my elderly neighbor that pays me hourly to keep his yard in nice shape. Back half is outlined with thick hickory forest and there are about 35 trees in the front. I have an 8hp walk behind blower, a br600, tarps and his zturn to drag loads to the treeline in the back. Hoping to get a decent vac and trailer for next year.

Brian, I enjoyed the video. I use my turf tiger and drop the deck all the way down to push up piles. You could have done this to make your pile narrower and forgone the guy racking behind the vac. I hope this helps save some time.

I was wondering if you had your Kujo boots on.... Guess not! I probably would've charged $2500-$3000 based on your man hours. Dump fees alone for me would be in the several hundred dollars range. If I had to do a job like that, I think it might've taken me longer as I would have to tarp them and smash them into my trailer, so it would be several trips to the dump. I'm really hoping to have a Billy Goat for next year. You are the inspiration!
@robertherrick3977
@robertherrick3977 3 жыл бұрын
You should really look into a DFS (dump from seat) bagger. Blow everything into the grass, suck it up with the mower, and dump it at the curb. Then suck it up with the loader. Mower will shred the leaves once, then they get shredded again through the loader. Nothing left but dust and no climbing in the box to pack it down. It’s defiantly slower to suck up, but you have 1/4 the volume to suck up.

Brian....i have to agree with james zell, there are a number of ways to mulch that property...and iv'e seen you do videos on them..those leaves spread out on the grounds would be perfect to mulch...but there seems to be this mindset that bigger is better by a lot of guys...but there are a lot who mulch like i have for 23 yrs now..simply put..less time/less expense/more profit/no sticker shock for your clients/they will love you and never let you go...its just a smarter not harder thing pro bro..love your videos!

@@TriDaddy if u anyone expects a company to be at their house for 10 to 12 hours with a crew of guys and to remove 25 yards of leaves for anything under 2k... here's a rake and some bags do it urself. 25 yards of shredded leaves is prob close to 75 or 100 think of a 53 ft tractor trailer loaded. That's what these ppl had for leaves. Plus it's not free to get rid of that amount. A homeowner would need 2 months by themselves to do that. That's worth more than 2k

And don't say it's just leaves... its demeaning and ppl are paying for our expertise in getting it done efficiently and the wear and tear on our equipment. Oh and never mind its physically demanding and dirty as hell. Landscape guys literally are breaking our bodies to keep ur house looking nice so don't ever say it's just landscaping.

Brian, seriously when you are doing that big of leaf jobs take you mower put the mulch plate on it and mulch the leaves up making them smaller. You will get more leaves in your dump trailer. When the leaves are mulched you will be surprised how much more you can get into the trailer. I will mow, mulch and then bag leaves. It reduces the amount of bags I have and it does a better job at cleaning up the yard and the grass.

Might of helped to speed things up if you would have separated into several large piles, of course a leaf plow would have helped this. I’ve always found it’s easier to stop at one pile and have a guy raking the leaves to you while one guy is on the tube verse one guy doing all the work walking along the ditch line sucking up the leaves and the other guy driving the truck, Not too mention he might miss some leaves so then you have to go back and blow them out again and clean them up verse if it’s in a large pile it’s all in one spot. But nice job definitely a huge cleanup.

I live on a 1 acre property with 2 oak trees (around 200-250 feet each), and 4 Sycamore trees (about 75 feet each). When we used to have our landscapers do our cleanups, it was a flat fee of $250 (I think it was that, my parents took care of the payments and such, I was around 14 or so when we last had a cleanup done by our landscapers). That was only to blow the leaves to the curb for the town to collect. Last year, we got a new landscaper because the previous one would only show up for payments, his employees were EXTREMELY rude to me and my parents, wouldn’t listen to a thing I would say. Me being the “homeowner” and who takes care of the lawn, I knew we had to change. Our new landscaper is a one man band and doesn’t have the equipment to handle all the leaves our property makes. (He only has an Echo PB-770 (I think that’s the model)), but either way, there’s no way he’s going to get our property done, alone at least. I decided to purchase a Husqvarna 360BT and a Billy goat 6 blower. Not the biggest and most powerful equipment out there, but for me doing it alone, I can get the property done in about 3-4 hours on a good day.

When you indicated hours at the beginning then I figured the length of what you showed for picking leaves up and I had in my head $1500.00 and was very surprised thats what your number was did you do it all with back pack blowers?

I like big properties cause we got big equipment to handle it. We like to make one or two piles in the middle and burn it. let it burn all day if the customer lets you. Then you do not have to load it and haul it. I’m not sure if this will work in a more dense town or city but out in the country we burn it.

I would have charged $1500-$2500 probably, my leaf vac is pretty small so it takes me awhile to suck up leaves. But if I had a billygoat my hourly price would be higher, so the price would be about the same either way.

Looks good. I'd have charged around $1,750. $60 per man hour for the blowing then $200 per hour for the time that sucker is running.

I'd also say, next time blow all leaves onto the street, so long as a car can pass. That way the lawn is 100% done, your sucking off of a hard surface, and done have to blow through the lawn where the leaves were. The final blow down is all on pavement, which i find is way easier to blow on. When your doing the final blow of the dirt and mulch and sticks etc just blow it into a nice narrow strip, and then run a snow shovel down it and barrel it or a rake to get the bigger crap, and blow the dirt back in the grass.

It doesn’t matter what others charge. Everyone has different costs. If you cover your costs and add your profit margin you will be where you need to be. The big jobs seem nice but more small jobs can be more profitable. Cheers.

We do $62.50 per man hour for cleanups. Some of the bigger companies here in MN are doing $75.00 an hour. I will raise my prices once we become more efficient.

1500 was a fair price in my opinion you will definitely get a call back next year and they will tell their neighbors. Repeat business is better than killing it on one job just to have another company give a cheaper bid next year cause you were too expensive.

Thats 50 per man hour. I think its a good price but I dont know your ovrhead numbers. I have 1 new truck and a smaller mower trailer setup and we charge about 150 an hour for 2 of us and the equipment. We use LMN software. We are still pretty broke most of the time. Going to start a YT channel and hopefully collaborate with some of you!

I've never done a job that big, and probably never will, but I would have charge my hourly rate of $55, plus dump fee. Probably would have been closer to $1750. On the other hand, like some of these guys have said I would have mulched the leaves up first, so I wouldn't have had anywhere near as much on the curb or in the trailer.

Hey Brian! I love the videos! I was wondering where did you find the tube that connects to your debris load that then goes into the box on the truck? Right now we are using a metal HVAC pipe and it isn't working the best. Thank you man! Keep up the awesome videos!
