Im a Ford guy but that was an impressive tow, very stout truck and it looks great with the flatbed.

Wow, haven’t been up 20 since they started all that construction. Seemed like the truck did great pulling that weight. Last time I was up that road it wasn’t paved past Fuller lake.

Nice I got my 40k diamond c custom with 3" ball, obviously, and I tow my medium mulcher that weighs 31k, and trailer weighs 9600, pulls great still. Stopping is still pretty easy, too. It's just so nice not using our peterbuilt to get into tighter areas.

What do you haul with? Would like to step up to a new excavator weighs at 29700lbs haul with my f450 and 40k rated trailer (9k), but worried DOT will be all over my ass about truck gvwr being 14k, and say my truck axles are "over". thinking of just sticking with cat 310.

Awesome video man!!! I’m somewhat new to the steel track world my guess would be to prevent the tracks to touch pavement so it doesn’t damage them!!!! But I’d love to be educated a little more on this subject, but awesome video man

The extra gears on the Fords definitely make it nice going up hills but nothing and I mean nothing compares to the cummins exhaust brake.

Hey Sam could you make a video on what the diffrence in phisical parts and or ecu programing is between the standerd output and the high output cummins? And maybe what the diffrence is between them and the derated 5500 trucks. Ive allways wondered how hard it would be to turn a 500 up to the H.O. numbers where it should already be. It has never made to much sense to me to derate the trucks as they get bigger. I get they do it for reliability or longevity or what ever but they can make it just as reliable as a 3500 with the more power if they wqnted to. In my opinion

The odds of the keys to a cab chassis truck being tossed to somebody that doesn't care about the vehicle vs a high output pickup are a lot higher. A 5500 with high output cruising around at twice the weight of a 3500 HO is going to be much harder on the system when it has a driver with no sympathy for the vehicle.

A good idea I think would be to Install a fan switch so you can flick it on when it’s gets warmer then 205-2010

Risky business trying to modify an emissions truck. Do to much and it won’t get to the temps it needs to in order to burn off the exhaust correctly. These trucks like to run at 210-220 ok average. Been that way for years

Wonder how the ford 6.7 with 10 spd would do on those climbs, I’m sure the downhills would be handful tho with fords stupid exhaust brake setup

How do you feel about that 240 oil temp? I was going over Donner once, not pulling anything close to what you are, and hit 235 on a 85 degree day. I was pushing it a little bit, 55-60mph I didn't think it would get that warm on me.

I’ve seen it warmer on my old truck. Little hot but I’m not to worried full synthetic should be good for a few rounds of that

It's been a minute, ya must be busy. I went looking yesterday in case YT screwed up again! LOL Hoss not like the 4500? Would that tow the other DC on a long haul?? Just a dumb thought. 8-/ Bet the new motor would like fresh oil sooner running hotter maybe ?? Mine does. 8) Great to see ya, hope all's well! 8) --gary
