@Sunrayv your hips become imbalanced running the curves one direction, so for distance you run significantly more curves than sprinters therefore you need to run the opposite way to “even” out your hips and glutes.

@@Roach9373 One minute per heat can add up to over an hour over the course of the whole meet. And no, distance runners don’t take up that much time. We normally runners actually do our warmups several minutes BEFORE the race, not as we’re walking to our lanes. Also, the 3200 is usually towards the end of the meets, so all the sprinters and jumpers can go home if they want so they don’t have to watch a boring 12 minute race.
@brynyaboggs
@brynyaboggs Ай бұрын
@@Roach9373no bro do you do track? If you’re in blocks correctly I’d should hurt and you should be shaking. You don’t want to be like that even for less than a minute before the race. The faster you’re out of blocks the better. Also, as someone who runs multiple events ( 100,4x1, 200, and 4x4), having the distance events in between makes track so much better. Having the 1600 in between the 100 and 4x1 gives me AT LEAST 5 minutes (usually more, around 10-20) and the 3200 between the 200 and 4x4 gives me at least 10 minutes of recovery time but usually around 25.

Warming up with your team helps settle nerves (for me at least). I ran distance but that time before the race when I was with a few other teammates helped ease my nerves and mind. We could talk about the race, strategy, how we felt or just talked about anything. Not everything has to be done alone. Taking long to get into the blocks and yelling is how they cope with anxiety. Trust me the butterflies before a big race will have you jumping the gun.

ooooo i love this question... my track icks: 1. cross country guys: literally zero hygiene they always leave a trail of odor when they run by me,. 2. the throwers: they're always big and i think they should lose weight.. 3. thee multi-runners: refer to #1. 4. the girls who walk around with esentially thongs on...: its not cute u look desperate for attention. 5. people who walk on track barefoot: you're gross. 6. people who act deaf when u yell "track": you're a waste of oxygen. 7. ppl who complain abt lanes 7-9: grow up, all the lanes are even. 8. people who don't use blocks: grow up. 9. people who talk ab how nervous they are before a race: i quite literally dont care. we all are. 10. 10. slow people who only run the 100: yikes just quit track why r u even here? 11. people who pee themselves in check in: it's self-explanatory. i've seen it happen a few times and i promise track is never that serious... go to the restroom. 12. people who get angry competitive at their own teammate for being faster than them...?: you're not good enough. and that's okay. don't take that out on me. 13. people who cover their ears during the start: stop. get some help. it looks so.... special. 14. people who cry after losing a race: LOL you're actually embarassing. 15. people who showboat after winning a race: literally grow up. please. 16. people who dive across the finish line: again, track is never that serious. yikes. 17. people with poor hygiene: trust meeee we all KNOW. you're easy to single out. WEAR DEODERANT.
