Voodoo Doll must be one of VIXX's best horror concepts. I remember they have to change the lighting and the choreo during their performance on music show for this song because some fans were scared. They had their first win with Voodoo Doll on Music Bank too. This song has a very special place in my heart.

I'm just reminiscing how I danced this song during our year end party when I was still in Grade 8, junior high. And now I'm already a 3rd year college student, still the effect and the vibe of this song still cut through me. So freaking satisfying

I've said this before but I absolutely adore Voodoo Doll, not because I enjoy dark stuff, (I actually get lightheaded just looking at blood) but it sets VIXX so far apart from other groups. To this day, Voodoo doll will still be the best horror MV hands down. The choreography had to be ALTERED because it was too scary for music shows, can you believe that? A choreography that had to be changed not because it was too sexy but rather because it was too terrifying. They were still considered rookies at that time but for them to be so willing to adapt a dark theme/concept so well is what truly makes them the kings of concepts.

I miss this era were groups would do elaborate/avant concepts and actually push the boundaries and risk it for the aesthetic lol. People nowadays say that old kpop was weird or cringy, but imo these were the groups that stick out the most and left an impression on the public. Plus its fun!! A voodoo doll concept?? like cmon, they were just so ahead their time. This song will forever remain iconic to me, i remember being actually shocked when i first watched the mv and thats something that i barely get from kpop groups nowadays 😅. i always remember this song on halloween times, its perfect.

2019? I'm watching this on the first day of the Year. This year is going to be great.

It's 2019 but I'm not over with this song. Everyone else here surely agrees with me. Thinking about what happens in this video, their rooms symbolize something. (Long comment ahead) First, N, if you watched VIXX's Voodoo Doll Making of M/V video, N described that his room is filled with broken things. This symbolizes how broken he is but despite that it didn't matter to him if he's broken as long as he fulfills what the woman wants. Second, Leo, he didn't describe what his room is but if you noticed there are huge mirror and TVs. I think this symbolizes his memories perhaps memories of himself, that woman, or both? Also, he's pierced at his back which means his memories with the woman is still with him and inflicted him. Third, Ken, he described that his room is a fire room. He said that he is cursed by fire. Fire is often a symbol of burning love but sometimes it can be a danger. I think this symbolizes he doesn't care if he gets burned by the woman even if it hurts him. Fourth, Ravi, he described that his room has spoiled foods, unidentifiable, smoke, mysterious, a mysterious room filled with unknown signs. If you noticed his room is even fancier than the rest of the VIXX members. I think this symbolizes how the woman is spoiled by everything he does for her and the signs on the glass perhaps symbolizes how his fate is vague and complicated. Fifth, Hongbin, he didn't describe what his room is but if you noticed he can go in and out of his room. Also, he's acting lunatic and unpredictable. (Kudos, and I actually want to see more of Hongbin's acting like a lunatic). I think this symbolizes his psychotic tendencies just for the woman (for example: killing someone) he loves, brokenness from this relationship, but at the same time, he wanted to free himself but couldn't. Last, Hyuk, he described that his room is a forest room, a wooden room. This room doesn't make any sense, right? Right? But no, I think this symbolizes his growing feelings for the woman even if the woman doesn't reciprocate her feelings for him. Plants are good for us, but if it's excessive, it's not. Hyuk's room makes me think they're in the endless loop, dancing on the palm of the woman once again. It's an endless cycle between them and the woman. That's all. To the people who only know VIXX when Halloween comes, VIXX is much more than that ❤️ Go check Scentist, the closer, fantasy, GR8U, beautiful killer, whisper, … etc. They are the most diverse music group out there 😍 regardless of the music style u like, VIXX discography has many songs that will suit ur style! Don’t sleep on them go check their B sides, they are known to have side tracks that are equally good as their title tracks if not better ;)
