Last time RV Camping on Vancouver Island we hiked Crest Mountain in Strathcona Provincial Park ( The oldest British Columbia Provnicial Park) and found out Alysha was PREGNANT after the fact. Now being back RVing Vancouver Island with Chloe, we wanted a rematch with hiking Crest Mountain WITH Chloe on our back. Hiking in Bryce Canyon with Chloe was a tough, big day but this may very well be the hardest hike we've ever done!
Family camping on Vancouver Island has been so nice and relaxing for us though. So many beautiful areas, not too busy and great temperatures all around the ocean and mountains. While camping at the Buttle Lake campground in Strathcona Provincial Park Chloe also officially began to take her first steps and start walking! We'd been wondering for awhile with all the outdoors stuff we've been doing over this big family RV living season. Now that she can really walk and start exploring with us family camping and family RV travels should only get that much funner for us though. I mean she might not be hiking Strathcona with us yet but even just family walks around the campground have been so fun as a family activity.
So plenty more exploring with Chloe during the family RV life to come now friends, thanks for being with us for this big news! What a ride all of this RV living and growing our family on here has been with you all. So until next RV vlog as Chloe learns to walk better and better, take care!

Exciting hey Debbie! Once she started getting the confidence to try there was no stopping her of course haha. Sure is nice being able to walk around the campground and let her explore more now rather than always having to have her carrier. She's loving the independence for sure! 🍁

Ya'll are so tough. I can't imagine getting in that cold lake. Chloe is a trooper!

It was a lot colder than we had originally remembered it being but still refreshing after all the climb, and to get out of the bugs haha. Last time it definitely didn't seem as cold though so it was kind of the carrot on the stick to help make getting to the top that much more enticing. Our Bryce Canyon hike was a big day but this one was just so tough since it was all up one way and all down back so you never really got to give your body a variety of work. Still a fun challenge for us though haha. Cheers guys! 🍁

wow! kudos to you both! admire your perseverance! Thanks for taking me to a place I will never see here on beautiful and wild Van Isle. While I am an island resident, it would not be a place or thing I would attempt any longer. Glad no bears to escourt you! Looking forward to your next adventure. Thanks for showcasing BC. I enjoy your travels in our province or Canada generally. And of course watching Chloe grow.

Hey Lexy, thanks glad you enjoyed it. It was fun doing that hike again and reliving, that whole Strathcona area is so beautiful. Wild to think the mountains are that big on the Island. Always impresses us being from the Interior and thinking of Island's as a flatter thing. Hope to keep being able to show you more fun places with us 😀🍁

Hey Gary! It was challenging for sure but at least it makes for good memories haha. We just had to try it with Chloe after seeing the other couple do it and after finding out Alysha was in early pregnancy with Chloe last time. Thanks for watching 😄🍁

Hey Vicki! She already is for sure now haha. Sure picks it up quick now that she's able to practice and build the confidence. Been a blast though and glad she got to learn while still camping a bit so she could explore the great outdoors! 🍁

Haha thanks Sue! It was a big day for sure but hey slow and steady and take breaks when needed right. Not a race but a marathon for some pretty awesome views. Now that we've done it again with Chloe I think we'll be trying some other ones and taking a break from it though haha 😅🍁

I enjoy your videos so much! If you are ever on the South part of the Island (Sooke), you must hike Mount Manuel Quimper. We did it this summer and the views are spectacular. There is even a lookout tower where you can sign a guest book. FYI: Trekking poles help soooo much (with knees, back, legs) especially going down (and with carrying chloe on your back). Looking forward to your next video, you guys are awesome!

Just a heads up guys. If you ever have to use the bear spray, point down, not up. They move so fast that you'll miss it if you don't point down and you only have 2 seconds to react.

And she’s off! Love her confidence 🎉 I enjoyed seeing your repeat hike. Amazing views and so amazing that you did it with a baby on your back! Trekking poles really help the knees (oldster tip😊)
@LukeandAlysha
@LukeandAlysha Жыл бұрын
Poles likely would've been a blessing for coming back down good point. That really is the struggle of this hike is the fact your climbing muscles just take a beating consistently, and then on the way down it's straight down. The Bryce Canyon day was big but at least that path had rolling hills to give your body some variations. Next time we'll try a different hike and view point now that this one is checked off though haha🍁

Cool stuff, I did bedwell lake while I was at strathcona. The views are dynamite there. I also took my 1 year old on my back up a couple trails there as well. Looks like you were getting eaten alive out there.

Such a beautiful area hey. We definitely need to get out and check out some more of the other options now that we've officially checked off that one for the time being. Flies and bugs were heavy for sure and will need to remember bug spray next time haha. Thanks for watching and happy to hear you guys and the little one got out too! 🍁

Go heavy on the electrolyte hydration and consider bringing bananas for the potassium to head off muscle cramps.

It’s great that your getting your workouts in, however, you might consider not bringing Chloe. Your trails are far to dangerous to be bringing her with you. There are a number of things that could happen to either of you which would put her at risk . There’s always the danger of animal attacks as well as spiders and bugs. Your wonderful parents, please consider the danger .
