Sweet ride mate 🤙🏽. I wish I could get one of those Schwinn frames but you never see them over here in the jolly old UK. I like your attitude, sometimes one just cant be bothered to do a ‘really nice Job’ 😏 sometimes it is what it is. Wasnt a full moon when you built that was it? 🧐. Stay groovy man 😎

Yeah I hear that often about the scarcity of the old American cruisers over there. Really nice jobs take patience which I have none of. Also fussing over something too much sucks the fun out. Thanks Ian!

It was a patch I bought from Path Less Pedaled and glued to a hat. Looks like they are out of them now though... pathlesspedaled.myshopify.com/

Cool . I’ve got a 26” Huffy that I’m putting BMX 20” tires . The pedals are too low so I’m going to weld a new bottom bracket on . I’m thinking it will give me 4” ground clearance and the chain will just miss the frame .

@@LocojoeBRAKING NEWS. Welded the bottom bracket in , chain just clears lower bar . It rides like a BMX , I’m looking for motorcycle handle bars and going to weld in a pipe for calliper brakes . I wish I could send you a picture

Question at 11min what is the part called that you attached the rear brake to?

Sorry I don't know what it's called but it's the part off of a cantilever brake that holds the brake pad.

How did you get into “restomods”

Something like this I suppose... many years ago we each had a new road and mountain bike which seemed like overkill when we just wanted to ride errands or around the neighborhood. I decided to find us some old cruiser bikes for that type of riding which I didn't have any luck with at first so we bought new cruiser bikes from a big box store and totally modified them to our liking. Later I started coming across the old bikes and fixing up and modifying them. At first I was repainting/powder coating and making them all nice with new parts then later realized I prefered them ratty and trying to reuse as many parts as possible. Never been into restoring. At one point I was doing more chopping and welding making choppers, stretch, tall and swing bikes. Hope that answers the question. Thanks.

And now I’m back to riding errands and around the neighborhood on those same years of mountain bikes lol.
