I am 175 cm tall & 81.5 cm Inseam , currently I have FX3 size L and I need to upgrade to a gravel / endurance bicycle which could be tends more to road performance , So I decide to go with TREK brand because it has a good serves in KSA , So I am comparing between either of : 1/ Checkpoint ALR5 2020 (size 56 or 54 , not available in TREK KSA now) I don't know because the stand over for size 56 is 80.8 cm as per TREK chart which is almost my actual inseam with no clearance despite I am located in size 56 as per TREK, also I choose model 2020 since TREK changed its group set to shimano GRX instead of 105 in model 2021 which tends more to off road performance as I think , Noting that I will reduce the tires thickness to 32 or even 28m if I go for this bick. 2/ Domane SL5 size 56 since I already tried size 56 in Domane AL2 on the shop & was ok with me . 3/ Emonda ALR5 , and I know it is pure road but if its geometry is almost same as above two models I will go for it . So I need your advise please for the proper size & best bick selection tends to road performance with decent geometry or you advise with another model . I know it is a long story but i am really need an expert opinion . Thanks

For sizing between models use geometrygeeks.com and compare stack and reach with a bike you know. In this case it's the Domane in a 56. If you can't actually try the bikes this will give you a good guide. And remember, by design a gravel bike or Endurance bike will have less reach and more stack than a road bike by design. It really comes down to what you want to do with the bike

Wont the tyre profile affect the height from the floor to top of saddle. 700x25 may sit lower than 700x28. ??

It doesn't really matter, it's the difference of the two numbers between bikes, that is the essence of this approach as it eliminates ALL variables; tyres, bottom bracket drop, chainstay length and seat post angle. If my saddle is 1500mm from the floor and bars are 1300mm from the ground on one bike, the difference is 200mm. So on the second bike set the bars to 200mm lower than the saddle measurement on that bike, whatever the number is. This is why a flat floor and perpendicular wall are important. Make sense?
