Decided to ride my bike from West Palm Beach to Key West. 270.2 miles in total over 4 days. My route took me along the eastern Everglades levee road, through Florida city, then along Card Sound Rd to Northern Key Largo. I followed US-1 all the way down to Key West. I couldn't have asked for better weather; cool in the morning and a slight tailwind in the afternoon. Traffic was light and gave me no problems the entire trip. For my gear storage I used a gravel bike with two small panniers in the rear, a half frame back, and a handlebar roll. I filmed this with a Gopro Hero7 (I didn't have room for my bigger camera) and I think it came out pretty good. White balance was off on a few clips and the FOV pretty much stays the same the whole time, but it was a pretty failproof setup the whole way. I really do love the new stabilization and hyperlapse.

UPDATE: Due to popular demand, I have created a GPS route that closely mirrors the route I took. Please use this as a reference guide but DO NOT trust that this will be 100% passable as construction along the Everglades canals can change from year to year. Do not expect to always be able to cross a canal over the control station (dam) as some of them are razor wire fenced and gated. I highly suggest using the most recent google satellite maps and scouting out the crossing points during a shorter day ride or with a vehicle. Some of the streetview pictures along these canals are many years old and may not be reliable or even located in the correct place. If you get stuck on the wrong side of the canal it can easily turn into a 15-30 mile detour... in the deadly south Florida sun. There is almost no shelter on this route, camping is illegal and impractical on most of the Canals in south florida, so make sure you thoroughly plan ahead!
This route starts at Riverbend Park in Jupiter, FL. It follows the eastern edge of the greater Everglades wetland area. As you travel south there will be civilization on your left side and expansive wetland wilderness on your right.
