Just an update on the bike and I test 2 helmet/mic setups side by side.

I agree: To my ears, your open-visor Bell helmet mike, captures the clearest sound and is excellent for your voice. Your Davida set-up seems to miss some high frequency clarity, but I think it's not at all bad for exhaust sound. Finally, regardless of how well your fellow Americans and other English speakers can comprehend you, I imagine that users of poor sound equipment, and some foreigners, will still want subtitles... :) What an interesting experiment ! Thanks for sharing...

The Sena,especially for vocal. Bike sounds good on both but less ambient noise on the Sena

The Sena mic is the best Ive found so far but I cant seem to eliminate a popping sound coming from the cable for some reason. Im still working on a solution.

About wearing helmets and their various designs for safety: Many are also useful to keep the head warm and dry. Some even help keep wind noise down. Or, how about using a helmet as a device to hold a visor between the face and all the airborne things that sting, especially above 40 mph. Finally - and this is the only reason for me personally - as protection against the authorities ! :)

The open face helmet mic sounds a lot better! Have you tried a chin curtain on the full helmet? I need to try your sena audio setup; currently I only record videos using a full face helmet due to the wind noise.

Bike sounds great. Davida with 20s mic sounds much better, both engine noise and your voice especially with less wind noise.

The open face helmet sounded better , but if you fall face first into the pavement , your teeth grinding along the pavement will be noisy through that mic . 😮 just saying 😏

Sounds to me like the Sena has superior noise cancelling.

Yep, Davida/Sena for the Win. I looked up Davida helmets. They're sold out everywhere it seems.

They can be hard to get ahold of these days, they're made in a small shop in England that still hasn't fully recovered from the pandemic lockdowns. Hedon is comparable but EXPENSIVE! The sun visor on my Davida is from Hedon.... you don't even want to know what I had to pay to get my hands on it.

@@UncleVoodoo Ahhhh. Yeah, there are businesses that are still feeling the effect of the pandemic and the war in the Ukraine. I pre-ordered a knife from Bark River Knives through DLT and it’s going on two years now, still waiting.
