That was probably one of the most ideal "commutes" I have seen for a train. Biggest problem with a bike or car is getting ready to go, and finding somewhere to park. even then i think the bike will win! And only £9.90 for the train, what a bargain. My train "commute" was 6 miles and was nearly £80 back in 2012!!!

Hi Aidan, thanks for your kind works mate! Yeah the LXR SE is a great little bike and it is a brilliant alternative to the more expensive competitors on the market. We had no problem with the bike in the time we had it, ran perfectly and it sounds awesome for a 125cc! Definitely worth looking into if you are considering a 125cc sports bike!

even on my 50cc honda vision scooter, and not going on a motorway it takes me less time to get to college around 15 miles from home than a bus. scooter takes around 40 mins, bus takes around 1.5 hours. cant wait till i get a 125cc motorbike and i can actually go 60 in the places where thats the speed limit, that would probaby reduce the time it takes by around 15-20 mins.

I honestly don't think you'd likely struggle with it tbh as you are very similar height to me. Though it isn't a light 125, it is by no means really heavy, always go to a dealer and check out in person and make sure it is all OK and safe first, but I got on absolutely fine with the height and weight of this. We got on really well with the LXR SE on test. Of course do your own investigating into owners reviews etc as well and check one out and see what you think in person. But for a budget sports 125 with liquid cooled motor we were impressed.

Alex could have walked to the Forum instead of waiting for a bus. Surely he should have found out beforehand what bus he needed?!
@BikeMatters
@BikeMatters 5 жыл бұрын
Alex walked out of the train station and the bus was pulling into the bus stop outside, so he walked straight on. Alex confirmed the stop was on route with the driver and away he went. Timing wise this made it faster for Alex to get to the Forum. No waiting around for the bus and was faster than walking.

@BikeMatters
@BikeMatters 4 жыл бұрын
@@durhamhighwayman9640 Thanks for your comment. Alex also started at the train station, not many commuters start their journeys directly at the station they'll walk or drive to the train station from their home. Waiting for the train and getting tickets was around 10 minutes. Which we think is a fair for an average rail commuter.

City like London nothing can get faster then the bike from point A to point B not even worth comparison. Simply journey from home to work 10miles takes me 50 min with the underground and bus. Bike 20 -25min. Underground 35£ / bike 16£ per week for petrol but then you have to add insurance cost and maintenance. Probably money wise is the same cost.

A few basic facts per my own experience riding the trains in European countries and riding over 22 miles on my commute of over 40 miles for many years. First, in the USA, we have the worse mode of transportation, our trains are not as clean as yours and during winter, we have homeless people sleeping on the train for free and the police does nothing about it. Our roads here are not as nicely paved, we have potholes everywhere and traffic is horrible here. You see, the US has always been about using its citizens like slaves to benefit the 1% that own the US and the world, this is why it cannot keep its nose out of other countries affairs, we have the worse health, housing, education and employment crisis in the world, because our hard earned money goes to our military. Anyway, the true test of train vs motorcycle should have been done during a cold, rainy day, and the train will WIN!!
@anthonyhalifax1027
@anthonyhalifax1027 5 жыл бұрын
Was this a fair test? The bike should have left at the same time as the train left the station?!
@BikeMatters
@BikeMatters 5 жыл бұрын
As commutes normally start from home or at work (not the train station), public transport commuters would then need to walk, cycle or drive to the train station and wait for the train. Riding a motorcycle, you can just get on it and ride. We started the challenge within 200 yards of the Diss train station and Alex had purchased his ticket and was on the train within 10 minutes, so if anything Alex had the advantage. If we started from a home address in town he would have lost by a lot more time, as he would have used more time travelling to the train station! Thanks for the comment though, we wanted to make this challenge possible and it’s a completely fair test between the two.

It's a tired Top Gear video lads. Been done to death a decade ago. Go back to telling us about bikes. Wasn't a useful comparison at all. Nobody likes buses, we get it. Been the same for thirty years. We uderstand you've gotta do the lexmoto stuff, that's ok, you gotta pay your costs. Why not provide video with five things you dislike about a lexmoto model.. That'd engender confidence. You keep shouting about how brilliant every lexmoto model is. It's not credible for every single lexmoto model to be amazing value. Forget adverts Do reviews. Folk won't listen indefinitely without balance. You rarely mention anything negatve.
