I have a V2 Bayliss and the thing is a weapon on the track. However, what I love most are the interactions I have with people where ever I park up. I never get that with any of my other bikes.

I think that goes for most bikes in terms of social interactions, but yes I reckon the Bayliss would have its fair share of admirers when parked up

Great review and spot on. I had an 848 EVO Pearl white with red frame and rims which was my garage princess. Had to get this one as an update. Over long term will be a collector if they limit production

What a beast of a bike. I think at normal road speeds I'd last about 15 minutes before I'd need a massage. I'd love to have a go on the track with something like this.

swapping the exhaust and getting rid of the catalytic converter seems to cool it off a few degrees (temp reads about the same on the speedo but you can feel a difference). I know it's not possible for my friends in some parts of Europe but its definitely worth it if you have the opportunity to do so. Also, some reflective heat tape under the seat and along the sub frame will help out a bit. Ducati spacers sell a kit for around 100$ Or you can get some good heat tape offline for a fraction of the price and cut to fit.

I fitted a competition werkes tail tidy to my V2 @ circa $225 AUD , delivered. Sorts out the rear appearance and also a Ducabike clear clutch cover 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 I don’t find the riding position too bad on the wrists to be honest , though everyone is built different

I found the riding position OK on the wrists, but my 50 year old back had had enough after an hour or so. They sound like excellent mods that you’ve made.

Goodness this bike looks amazing. Sports bikes usually do love the CBR as well. But this thing is Gorgeous. I find it quite distracting when I can’t use the mirrors. And Yep I watch the Missenden Flyer too.

There's a reason why the brake and clutch resorvoirs are plastic: they sell you the anodized ones by Rizoma, black or red, as an option for about 250€ 😅

I agree with what they say, a tail tidy is a yes, snowy mnts in winter is the time to ride, mirrors? Who looks behind with a bike like that, I'm not far from my 69th Birthday and love it.

Ducati mirrors are for show only. At least these days they are useful as indicators. I agree that the paintwork looks too cluttered. I would prefer a tricolour paintwork without the Bayliss/Shell stickers. Maybe you could call it a V2S. Most Italian sport bikes are horrible commuters for all the reasons you gave ie. Heat and seating position. These bikes are happiest on track days or spirited riding on clear roads. Still would have one in the garage though. Was not aware that “dad bods” are ideal for these types of bikes. So maybe less gym and more pie runs. 😉😆
@BikerTorque

I'm yet to ride a bike with a fairing & factory mirrors that weren't some shade of shit, and I've ridden a fair few bikes in my time. And Italian V's all seem to direct all their engine heat to the saddle on purpose, at least on the ones that I have ridden. It's even worse if they route the exhaust under the seat too. Sadly the license plate phallus sticking out the back is there for legal reasons, but it's an easy fix with an aftermarket tail tidy kit. All in all, it's a very nice looking bike, but I wouldn't own one. The tail & heat are fairly easy issues to fix, but the mirrors are the deal breaker for me. Integrating the indicators make replacing the mirrors a much harder job than it should be. And with what can be done on modern bikes with LED indicators there's no reason for them to be where they are in the first place.
@BikerTorque

Agree the tail tidy is a relatively easy fix. Thanks for watching

What is with the manufacturers and those BS tails🙄 Is there a legal requirement why they make a hot bike look shit behind the seat?

Troy Bayliss used to have his championship winning Ducati visible in a window from the street at his Noosa holiday house, I prefer the black on black tbh and stop bitchin about the mirrors already you need to paying attention to what's in front but yeah there's a a few mods I'd make but FFS it's still a Ducati and it's a speciale 2, if anything it's the servicing costs etc that you would compare it to anything Japanese which still offers the best money on cost
