Hey brother, when you gotta go you gotta go. I remember riding a tiny Harley Davidson Iron 883 100 miles in a downpour, in the middle of the night. The iron was matte black, it was 50 degrees, and I'm 6'2 245lbs... Boy was that a booty cheek clenching death ride through bat country. I made it there fine and dandy soaked to the bone, no wrecks, no hydro. Now, on the way home a few days later... it starts raining again. :) Blind 90 curve caught me at 40 in the rain. I made the decision to take it straight off the road rather than risk bailing in the street. All I could think was "it's better to keep it straight up offroad than to lean it in the lane." No idea how I kept it up, but I kept working the throttle like a mudrunner in some poor souls front yard until I pulled it back up on the road and kept on driving. I can only imagine what the person living there thought if they saw me run into their yard on a Harley in a storm. I'm thankful every day that it wasn't a barbed wire fence into a cow pasture, It would have cut me in half.

I really appreciate all your videos. I'm a born again Christian from Australia and its hard to find good clean content on youtube on things I enjoy. Keep up the good work and run that race. God bless you

Dude I rented one of those for a day in Orlando FL once. When we (my wife and I) were going to return it this lightning storm came out of nowhere and it started downpoaring. I was like okay 1st, no traction, 2nd, no traction, 3rd, 4th, 5th gear has to have traction I told myself. No, I literally could not accellerate even in 5th. So, I went 30mph in a 50 until I got back to return the Slingshot. I didn't drive it anymore in the rain pahaha. It was one of the most terrifying things. And I was freezing LOL! I really enjoyed watching this because pretty much the same thing happened to me!!!!

No traction control, rain, single rear wheel: "I think this guy wants to RACE!" 5 seconds later: "wow how did that happen?"

Hint- The rainsuit hood goes up inside your helmet. Otherwise it acts like a funnel down your back.

Top Tip: They sell one piece rainsuits that actually keep you dry in the rain.

Thanks for finally giving me an explanation of why people consider these things to be motorcycles. I’ve never bought it. You don’t ride them. You drive them. You sit inside in a seat and use a steering wheel. That’s not a motorcycle!

i dont get the slingshot thing but one day i was getting gas and a old guy pulled up in one i asked him why he had it he said he rode bike for years and he had a stroke and lost his balance so if your 73 years old and had a stroke god bless you and enjoy a slingshot oh and BTW they have a Chevy cobalt motor in them

Two of my brothers and I bought brand new 1982 Kawasaki 305CSRs in 1984. They were our only transportation rain or shine. I put 15,000 miles on mine in the first year. We were taking them to the dealer every 2 months for an oil change. The worst trip was riding back to school one Sunday night in the rain, worse than riding in sub-zero in the winter. It was raining so hard the light from the headlight didn't reach the road. I finally had to pull over on the interstate and just wait for the rain to stop. The normally hour and a half trip took over three hours and I didn't get to my dorm until midnight.

I can't believe that three adult males who are in the motorcycle business, would go anywhere, or not think of bringing jumper cables, a jump start box, engine oil, coolant, fix-a-flat, duct tape, and tools.

this video made me laugh so much. like "he looked completely miserable from the rain and the cold" then the pop up saying, "he wasn't miserable, its just how he looks" hahah

I work at a dealership that sells a ton of slingshots. The reason they qualify as a motorcycle is not because of the three wheels but because there is a weight restriction for can be legally called a motorcycle. So by trimming it of air bags and excessive body panels they can make weight and be classified as a motorcycle.

Rain-X is great, but you have to keep applying it. If you have scratches or want something that lasts longer, use rubbing compound. Make sure the the visor is warmed by sunlight. It should apply easier and evenly.

I have a Harley Trike and I ride mine in all weather, snow and rain. I put-on all-season tires on mine. Because mine did the same thing. After putting on all season tires never had that problem since.

I have rode in lots of rain with no problem. But then again. I never turn off the traction control

One thing I would recommend for you is a visor that allows the use of a pinlock visor insert, they do a brilliant job of keeping the visor fog free so you can keep it closed in that sort of weather.

That central back wheel is always in the slickest part of the road, especially in the rain.

Oh man. What a crazy drive! I’d definitely have trailered it. The iPhone X is water-resistant. It’s advertised as waterproof for up to 30 minutes.

my very first car was a 96 trans am and the day I saw it and test drove it I bough it, but when driving it home there were some HEAVY rain, car had been in Arizona for the last 10y of its life so the wipers did not work proper, tires were never changed, 10 y hockey pucks, which is good for drifting in dry weather as you lose no rubber lol, but not good for aquaplaning or grip in heavy downpour....I kept accidently activate kickdown(again, my very first car and it have almost 300bhp and Rear-wheel drive , but not locked differential yet) So I could barely see, was doing upward to 100mph now of them by mistake lol and kept sliding when aquaplaning.....I was real sweaty when I got home lol btw it was imported from USA to sweden

Motorcycle does a much better job in the wet than the slingshot for sure lol. Polaris made it waterproof but they didn't really count on anybody actually going out in the wet driving it.

I crashed my Slingshot in the same weather at 60MPH head on into a tree and totaled it... not a good idea. This video gives me anxiety watching it. I definitely feel your scare! Will get a new slingshot again though! Definitely worth every penny.

I actually daily drove a Polaris RZR for a couple years. Rain, snow, ice, everything. Believe it or not I actually enjoyed it😂😂😂once I got moving my windshield just directed it all up over the roof. Not going to lie though I definitely wished I had a enclosed cab system at times.

Even with traction control Slings are dangerous AF in the rain. A friend hydroplaned head on into a car with his brand new Slingshot back in September. He's lucky to be alive. My dad also owns a Sling. Dude if it's raining and you have a choice, do not drive these vehicles in the rain!!

In Texas, out of 100 businesses started, only 5 will still be in business after 5 years, only 1 of the 5 will be still in business in 10 years. We have been in business 35 years, have we gotten rich, far from it. But we have provided alot of jobs for alot of families, our customers love us. And we never had to worry about finding another job. And we totally enjoy what we do, and that makes all the difference.

All they had to do was put the positive jumper cable to positive lead on the alternator and ground to ground on the engine or frame ground instead of removing the battery access panel. FYI

Two things that have saved my life with sudden/unexpected weather: rain-x in a fist-sized spray bottle and a 55 gallon garbage bag wadded up in my go bag. G-bags are surprisingly waterproof when run beneath your jacket and keep you super toasty! Nevermind the wet dog smell you will have accumulated by the time you make it to your destination...

I rode 10 hours on and around the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC in the lower 50s in November. It started raining 5 miles into my ride and nevet quit and at times it poured wearing nothing but my leathers. They were soaked but my clothing stayed dry. One of the best rides I ever had and I was in my early fifties.

I'm amazed the Sena 20s didn't get ruined too...they originally claimed they were "water-resistant" but a friend of mine and also myself have had one ruined in light rain after not even 30 minutes. I just take it off and put it in my pocket now out of precaution

For anyone with an opinion: I was looking at a bike and the owner had his price. Nicce bike kind of a future collector type thing (if you are into that) so it had like 45 miles. He had his price which I felt was high and he sent me the dealer invoice. His price included the taxes and fees we all know exist. I was like look I have to pay taxes on this- I really want the bike but I am not paying the extra ~3K to make you whole on the fees and taxes (even on the aftermarket stuff he had added). Maybe I am wrong but I have never seen a bluebook value or any other valuation consider the taxes and fees paid. So I never got the bike. About 2 months later he asked if I was still interested and he would drop the extra ~3K but I had already gotten another even better bike for the same price.
