Paul originally bought his 1973 Moto Guzzi Le Mans MK1 with the intention of restoring it, however soon changed his mind on that plan and decided to create a custom and put his own spin on it.
It was important to him though to not be too drastic though as he still loved the Le Mans styling and wanted to still retain that so it could be seen what it was originally.
With lots of unique and tastefully fabricated takes on it's original form, Paul has built a beautiful custom based on an Italian classic. Sounds amazing too!

Thanks so much for sharing, I just found your site. My first Guzzi along with friends was the V75. After that I had a cobourne and hughes MK2 Black and Gold beauty MK2. I could just sit in the garden looking at it, even my late father insisted I took him out for a ride , god bless him... This was a long time ago, when the Police were really decent guys (as they still are :)) Riding down the M11 , no mirrors on the MK2 I gave it some "larop" 130 max looked behind me and the lovely gentleman in the Volvo simply smiled and waved me to slow down which I obviously did, scared the life out of me , so lesson learnt . I never speeded after that. The good old days of coppering . No need for a ticket, just good old fashioned coppers.. God bless them. Would you get away with that today???

Nice bike. But It’s odd because I also own a Lemans 1 since many years which was completely modified to cafe racer in a famous German shop, similar specs to yours. But I somehow got fed up with it and recently brought it back to its original form (except the tuned engine). All this to find out that nothing beats Tonti’s genius (in my view).

I totally agree, the original was much more beautiful. Also, the aluminum fairing at the front looks very dangerous; it could rip into his chest or groin in an accident.

Big block v twin pre 93 Guzzis are that rare animal in the air cooled OHV motor world that do'nt need an electronic ignition kit upgrade. The twin points & condensors/dizzy set up is one of the most accurate and reliable systems ever devised. I bought a Dyna 3 kit for mine in 2002, its still in its box.... i've seen mid 80's Guzzi big twins back in the day running perfectly with 75k on the clock, original points in.... only thing is change the AA springs every 50k.

A very personal take on what a Lemon can be. Well done for keeping the cast wheels. Too many people get all "Triton wannabe" and build (or have built for them) crazy wire-spoked jobs. This is (at heart) a Lemon and Lemons have cast wheels. The exhausts look slightly naughty, but a Lemon should be slightly naughty. Altogether a handsome bike that must be a joy to ride (I've never known whether the correct verb for conducting a Moto Guzzi is "ride" or "drive").

Don't know why you butchered an original Le Mans, you could have taken any big round block and modified it. A nice build with lots of features but the Le Mans should have been left as is. The original came out in 1976.

Lovely work. However, and this is just how I see it, to use a Le Mans (so called Mk I) as a donor bike is an act of vandalism. A Mk II would have done, or a Spada. OK if everything is reversible, but you've butchered the Tonti frame top rails. The best view of the bike by far is at 0:23. It takes a certain kind of arrogance to think one can improve on a timeless classic design and to say "it's my bike" doesn't help, you're just the current legal custodian. No offence.
