Renfe, Spain's state-owned rail transport company, operates Cercanías commuter rail services in major urban centers across Spain.
Bilbao, the major city in the Basque Country in northern Spain, has an extensive rail network consisting of commuter rail lines (both Iberian and meter gauge), urban metro rail network, a tram line and two funiculars.
Cercanías Bilbao (Bilboko Aldiriak) operates three commuter rail routes terminating at Bilbao Abando station. The three lines are: C-1 to Santurtzi, C-2 to Muskiz and C-3 to the small town of Orduña located south of Bilbao.
Renfe Class 446 EMU's are operated on these three lines.
