What You’ll Hear:
In this video, you’ll listen to the first 5 passages of the first of the 12 books in Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations. These reflections offer profound insights that are still relevant today, providing a unique way to learn and practice Portuguese.
Why This Audiobook:
Listening to this audiobook is not just about language learning; it’s also about providing an entertaining experience by allowing you to immerse yourself in a piece of history and philosophy. Our bilingual and subtitled narration ensures you can follow along easily, making complex ideas accessible and engaging.
Our Approach:
To create this video series, we have rewritten parts of the book from the public domain version, creating our own edition, as is common with old classics.
Accessiblity:
We have made changes to simplify the language used and improve the ease of listening, given the older English style of writing in the original.
Faithfulness to the Original:
While modernizing the text, we strive to stay as true to the original meaning as possible.
Why It’s Effective:
By modernizing the book, we translate the work into a more modern and simpler Portuguese, beneficial for learners wanting to develop fluency. An archaic translation might have been less effective or usefull to students of Portuguese.
Your Participation:
We value your input! If you have any criticisms, doubts, or questions, feel free to share them in the comment section. Your feedback helps us create better content for all students of the Portuguese language.
