23:30 This part, for the next few minutes, is all I ever needed to hear... This is why I love these 2 fondly. I can relate with Bobby having fears but able to share my fears in order to find guidance, and Bill Burr has more than enough experience and maturity to give an honest and clear direction and path towards the truth and reality to overcome fears. And he put it so simply and real, it made me pause the video for an hour just thinking things on my end. Never thought I'd come here for something other than laughs. Bill freaking Burr, man.

really? Call me cynical but judging by how Bobby behaves around Bill I would disagree. Bobby is so on edge it feels like two acquaintances who never progressed their relationship to the friendship stage and Bobby just doesn't know how to behave. Bill has done so many different podcast/radio/tv appearances that he knows how to relax when he's working (this being work)
@m0rtred
@m0rtred 2 жыл бұрын
@@RedAndYellacuddlyFella Good, i like the little rebel in you. But you are wrong and that's Ok. Bobby is not "on edge" he's just excited to see he's good old friend. Also Bill doesn't know how to relax he literally has anger issues which is so obvs and everyone knows that, don't know how you came up with that line. Working or not, if he's angry, he's angry and you can tell that's not the case here. Go and watch the interview with Bill on "The Build" when he's promoting the first two seassons of F is for Family that's work. Here he's just having fun

Damn I have all these scenarios running through my head now. He could pick up stand up because his patients stories depress the shit out of him and gets called up for an open mic and tells a story about a patient and it completely kills so he keeps doing it. (For the conflict) a patient comes to his show while hes telling the story about him/her not knowing theyre there and he sees them in the audience and it fucks with him that his stand up is hurting the people hes talking about but then he convinces them the comedy will cure thier depression when they see how many people relate to what the patient is going through. Of course this is the shit that runs through my head at 2 am.

I was an avid listener when I was processing my anger issues (that I had always thought I had been passed over for/ dealt with), I did something finally that made me feel like the bad guy over not being to express how much something bothered me other than anger and aggression. My bf was making a joke- did not come off to me as a joke, but it really triggered years of helplessness against bullying- for whatever reason the joke was I had done something to bother him and death would be better than dating me, he was playing 'suicide is painless' on his phone. I begged him to stop (I had already told him I did not like this, being a running joke), he was not listening, I felt like the anger took over me and I punched him in the ribs and pulled his hair and when I got the stupid phone I came to my senses. I was like, bro, what you are doing is n o t working. He didn't understand how much that bothered me, but I can't actually cry around other people usually so he only seemed to see the anger, this fueled by a deep sadness. He was doing it in front of other people seemingly just to humiliate me. He probably thought hehe serious topic funny haha woman nag and I could not anymore. Even when my brother would hold stuff up high I could get to it when I got grown because he's shorter than me. I have been so succesful I hardly feel angry anymore. A lot of hours just thinking about how I want to feel and how to react without anger and paying constant attention and letting it flow out without trying to 'release' it. I had to stop play-fighting as I did with my brother with my bf as it was not as lighthearted as I thought, it let anger play itself out, and he told me if it did hurt he wasn't comfortable telling me. I am a pacifist, so philosophically it was easy I just had to figure out how to get anger frequency down and how I had lost control. My grandfather would beat his own children unconscious and throw water on them and keep it going, he would find excuses to beat my mother, like he liked having power over them physically. My parents knew that was monstorous but they were angry, my dad would yell. I have come a long way from my lineage. My main issue with the whole deal is I fear if I need to tap into anger to defend myself. Hopefully that is intact or will not be needed.

Bobby I'd love to see you do an entire episode going deep on Korean horror/thrillers. I watched The Yellow Sea recently and again thoroughly impressed by Na Hong Jin who also did The Chaser and The Wailing. Park Chan Wook. Bong Joon Ho, etc. I suppose they can get too dark or unsettling & realistic for a mainstream audience, but they just truly know how to craft a phenomenally intense story and seamlessly play within multiple genres. Suspense thriller, horror, action, mystery, romance and the perfect dash of comic relief. But for me, it's ultimately their intentional avoidance of the American cliches and dull watered down predictability that ruins the reputation of the genre. For the most part they are always uniquely authentic and show a deeply sophisticated pace and storytelling design that some US filmmakers have matched but rise above the common commercial genre movie.

Sad how a lot of people enjoy pointing out the (true or perceived) pain of others without even a shred of empathy. btw, not talking about the comment you replied to, that’s actually funny/edgy in a kind way. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like Bill Burr has really evolved recently. I've always liked him, but it often seemed like he had a chip on his shoulder or something. He seems more genuine now. More relaxed. And he's still hilarious. In fact, I think he's funnier/wittier than ever. I heard him say on a podcast earlier this year that he recently had a life changing experience on shrooms... It really shows, in my opinion.
