His comments about seeing his baby daughter for the first time are so true. Everyone tells you that you're going to have this near epiphany and that it'll be the best moment in your life. It's a terrifying moment. And when it isn't the best moment of your life, you feel bad because everyone told you it WOULD be and you feel like you're a bad person. That said, the first night with my daughter, as she slept on my chest, was the best moment of my life (so far). So to any future parents out there, don't feel bad at any time; the experience is unique to you and your family. Don't listen to anyone but your doctor's and significant other.

I've read and heard that a lot from parents, that they felt very weird when they didn't really feel anything after seeing their kid for the first time. Especially for women, there's so much pressure on them to feel like they'd give their life away for their kid as soon as they see it. People are only starting to talk about how that's not always the case now, fair play to Bill for saying something most people wouldn't admit.

I was 18 when my daughter was born and I think since I was also basically just a kid I was an emotional mess, it absolutely blew my mind at the time. Then after about 3 weeks of waking up at 3:15am to change diapers I was over it! Bill will soon learn this, but the good news is that he will likely be SWIFT in releasing yet another special!

I’m glad that Bill tells the story about how he felt or what or why he felt it when he saw his kid for the first time because this is actually a very common experience for a lot of people as the reality hits us in different ways. It’s important that people don’t internalize this one instance in their lives as some character flaw that implies something much bigger like the general anxiety of “something must be wrong with me” as a permanence.

I had that same experience with my daughter. I was told I was going to have this overwhelming sense of love for my little girl. When my daughter was born and everything was fine, I was happy, and I couldn't stop smiling for at least an hour that my little girl was born. But the overwhelming feel of love, I didn't get that straight away. I did wonder if something was wrong with me. But man oh man oh man, 16 months later and I don't think I could love my little girl enough, that it's amazing to me just how much love I have for her, and how it continues to grow every day.

I’m on a Bill Burr Binge. I’m reading comments under videos when he’s NOT on Conan, and it’s always the same. Conan is the only host that can go toe to toe with Bill, and that is the truth. Bill Burr is a goddamn treasure.

You know whats the best thing about this ? He has been hilarious for all these years, WITHOUT a "wife" and kids. Imagine the material he's gonna come up with after this.
