From there, Duke spoke on Vanity being in ‘Action Jackson’ and revealed that he did not keep in contact with her after the film. The two then discussed her drug addiction which led Duke to comment on crack cocaine as a whole, along with seeing massive spread of opioids and heroin across the country. He said he didn’t know that existed beyond the black community until he watched a recent documentary on it.
Duke then pointed out what it’s like to be a friend to someone who is addicted, referencing a friend who was on cocaine. He said he literally grabbed his friend and made him go to rehab.

Man Vanity was almost 60 when she died. Vlad do your homework man.... She got cleaned, looked kind of great before she died. She was into church damn near a minister etc in her 40s-late 50s.

I absolutely LOVE how Bill indirectly spun the conversation from Vanity's addiction as a black woman to highlighting that it is happening heavily in the white community where people are becoming addicted at high rates. That was a classy and very conservative way of checking Vlad about his biases towards Vanity. Everybody knows Vlad is a racist. It was distasteful for him to bring that up and not bring up her REAL legacy. The fact that she became a Christian woman and got clean, and lived clean for the rest of her life until her dying days. Literally he skipped over ALL of that just to make it seem like she ended her life as an addict. Bill Duke did a PHENOMENAL job of redirecting the conversation!

Vanity was 57 years old at the time of death. Dying from renal failure in a California hospital. She quit using crack after a near fatal renal failure in 94. Becoming an Christian evangelist which she continued to be until her time of death. #Vladfacts

here's something I realize now that I didn't when I was a kid watching Predator, Commando, & alot of the 80's action movies. Is how articulate these actors are. They could've played any role. Especially Mr. Duke. Great acting from great actors. Vlad, kind of slipped on your Creed history. But I get it. you got a big job!

Nice interview with movie actor Bill Duke. Action Jackson movie with Bill, music singer Vanity(RIP), Carl Weathers is a classic. Vlad talked about Vanity died in her 40's. Vanity was 57 years old. Vanity died in 2016. Vanity was born in 1959. Bill did another classic movie Exit Wounds with Steven Seagal, music rapper DMX(RIP), Anthony Anderson, Isaiah Washington, Michael White. Bill directed the movies Deep Cover with Larry Fishburne, Hoodlum with Larry Fishburne, A Rage In Harlem with Robin Givens, Forest Whitaker, Danny Glover, Gregory Hines(RIP). I like Bill Duke.

Apollo Creed was probably one of the smartest and most honorable badass characters in a movie, so salute to Stallone for writing that character. And on the drug thing, people, in general, are programmed to self destruct. The fact we still get NEW crackheads and NEW heroin addicts prove that. The only way to not get a problem is to not start one, you already got enough shit to deal with it, don't add more shit.
