In 1939, cartoonist Bill Everett’s most famous creation debuted in the pages of Marvel Mystery Comics #1 (or Marvel Comics #1)-Namor the Sub-Mariner! The half-human, half-Atlantean was filled with rage towards surface-people and became the first anti-hero in comics.

One of my favorite characters, created by a truly great artist/writer. While I enjoy many of the stories created by other writers and artists, none of them has the feeling for Sub-Mariner that Everett had. I still hope to one day see a faithful adaptation of Namor on the silver screen. Thanks for posting this video!

Its sad he died so young. But I will say his issues look like the best illustrated and also have the best lay outs of all of them I've seen, and I'm sure if he had lived a normal life time he would have made many more Namor stories, and I always complain that there aren't enough Aquatic characters.

A damn shame they messed up Namor with that Black Panther 2 movie. The only superhero born in the waters of the Antarctic and so in the southern hemisphere and they had to take that way from me they had to take that away from Bill Everett. I have issues of Amazing Man which was Everett's first venture into the superhero. He also created The Finn. I remember before Everett passed away he went back to drawing Namor for Marvel. And yes he worked for Timely, then Atlas and finally Marvel. Amazing Man appeared in a comic book and that comic book company didn't last long. I really liked Everett's work on Daredevil but thought his work on Daredevil was not long enough.
