Bill Foley's first interview since taking over AFC Bournemouth

Bill Foley spoke with afcbTV after completing a takeover of the club, which was ratified by the Premier League earlier this week.
He discussed plans for the future, his upcoming visit and his success with the Vegan Golden Knights.

This is going to be a long term goal but if this is true from what Bill is saying, I think our club could be an established premier league team who could attract some talent from overseas, obviously it’s not going to happen overnight but I believe we could stay up this season, UTCIAD 🍒😍🙌🏻

To all the American fans, both casual and potential- why support a soulless club with mercenary players, who are more interested in buying a player so you buy a shirt. It’s time to support an underdog on the rise - roughly 12 years ago AFCB, in baseball terms, was a Single A team, penalized 6 loses due to their financial situation, and without a viable manager midyear. If they finish in the very bottom places, they get ejected from the league and certain bankruptcy. They beg a former AFCB Central Defenseman to manage and they start winning. Needing a scorer, that manager begs his old roommate to come back, drop from Double A, and play for virtually free. They continue the climb where they need a win very late in the season to climb out of the bottom. Down 0-1 at half, AFCB scores the winner in the dying minutes, scored by that striker who came back for his love of AFCB. There is more to the story on how they got from Single A to here, but it begs the question - when you buy a AFCB shirt, you buying more than the name on the back - you are buying an underdog story with supporters, owners, staff, and players who truly love the club. To me, that’s something to support.

On the personal note, my closest two friends are huge VGK fans. As a new huge VGK fan, I know Bill Foley is the real deal. I tried to drag them to a match this spring for my 50th, but no tickets, even for the hospitality package. A testament to the supporters there, but also the small ground. That’s OK, I look forward to day because I will ready to sing with the faithful, albeit with my funny accent!
