Jason York That’s one way to look at it. Or he truly believes in engagement because talking to the other side achieves more than simply criticising. Another way to ask is what else are you going to do? The US is still dealing with the fallout from fighting a war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Are they going to go to war with China? Never mind what that’s going to achieve. Never mind if you can truly win. But ask, do you have the stomach for it?

Look if you REALLY think the richest man on earth is saying we should sterilize poor brown people in Africa and Asia with fake-vaccines, be my guest. You believe in a conspiracy theory. If you actually stop and think what he meant, you would figure out he meant something completely different. The actual statement referred to population growth: GATES: Well, over this decade, we believe unbelievable progress can be made both in inventing new vaccines and making sure they get out to all the children who need them. We can cut the number of children who die every day from about 9 million to half of that, if we have success on it. And the benefits there in terms of reducing sickness, reducing the population growth, it really allows society a chance to take care of itself once you've made that intervention. With Vaccines, Bill Gates Changes The World Again In society after society, he saw, when the mortality rate falls-specifically, below 10 deaths per 1,000 people-the birth rate follows, and population growth stabilizes. “It goes against common sense,” Gates says. Most parents don’t choose to have eight children because they want to have big families, it turns out, but because they know many of their children will die. “If a mother and father know their child is going to live to adulthood, they start to naturally reduce their population size,” says Melinda.

Thorium is a fuel cycle. You're probably referring to the molten salt class of reactors which can use many different fuels including thorium depending on design. While several of those are quite promising, they're not on the market and won't be for another decade or two probably. Existing light water reactor technology is already the safest reliable energy source that exists, so there's no point in waiting for future reactors since we need energy today.

I will answer top concern I saw: 1) Plants need CO2, therefore + CO2 = good CO2 is needed for plants to grow, that is right, but it only works when you can regulate the temperature of your environment (which is what labs and some farmers try to reproduce). In the wild excessive CO2 creates a greenhouse effect raising temperature to the point that plants cannot live and fires start more easily. As for the guys talking about "poison" vaccines and Bill Gates and Epstein go stick your keyboard where it hurts you the most, lol. If you read the article you are so much copy-pasting you can see how Bill Gates avoided Epstein and did not got involved with him.

Believe the hype or believe your own eyes...which will it be? At about .04% of Earth's atmosphere, CO2 is not an appreciable greenhouse gas. The whole premise is a hoax created to rob the fossil fuel industry, and tax the citizenry. They use fear and ridicule to push their cause, and bribe the scientific community with grant money for pre-determined research. The money has corrupted organizations like NASA and most universities. The lies and propaganda have negatively influenced a generation of young people who fearfully believe that the world is going to end in 12 years. Furthermore, people believe that America is to blame. The damage that these huxters have done is disgusting. Bill Gates isn't helping. He supports a cause that would destroy every major economy in the world, all for a lie.

The Vikings grew barley in Greenland a thousand years ago, the Romans grew grapes in Scotland. Explain that, or is it an inconvenient truth SJW's don't talk about. 55 million years ago the Arctic had an average temperature of 74 degrees. Core samples extracted from more than 1,000 feet below the Arctic Ocean floor prove this. Climate change is entirely dependent on how celestial bodies influence the weather on Earth. As well as which way the Earth tilt is in comparison to the Sun. Many scientists know this, but they have gotten on board with the great lie, the reasons why vary wildly. I would like to think they're being devious in the interest of cleaning up the World's pollution beliving if that is what it takes is an epic con. The reality, of course, is self-interest, join the mob or become the enemy. This has also morphed into a racist attack on the west, blaming everything wrong with the world real and imagined on first world nations mainly the USA. The reality is every time SJW's stop a factory in the west it is then built in China or India, the net effect in 'saving the planet' nil, the reality more unemployment in first world countries, more jobs in third world countries with poor human rights and terrible wages and working conditions. Millennials are destroying their own countries future prosperity which will be bleak for themselves and their children and grandchildren. matsfreedom is entirely right 'Believe the hype or believe your own eyes...which will it be?'

Except that CO2 doesn't increase temperature in linear fashion, it's logarithmic. we'd need much, much, much more CO2 to have the kind of warming effect that we're hearing about. The earth 80 million years ago had about 3000ppm and life flourished on the planet. The 1930s, which were hotter than this decade, had much lower CO2. We have fewer hurricanes making landfall this decade than last, we've had fewer deaths from extreme weather than any decade of the 20th century, famine/droughts down and the IPCC has dispelled the notion that those phenomena correlate with CO2 dailycaller.com/2018/10/08/un-climate-report-global-warming/ Forest fires have also declined in number in the US, despite the lack of controlled burns making the fires we have worse. Forest fires are actually a natural part of the cycle of growth. Antarctic sea ice extent grows, arctic has seen melting but significant areas of thickening this year. Here in the states even before it starts, it's seeming like it's going to be a killer cold winter as well. Climate scientists aren't held accountable for getting so many predictions wrong, or for their models being shown to predict nothing. When you bring the fact that hurricanes have declined, they change the goalpost and say "heavy precipitation" is a risk now even though precipitation cools surface temperatures down alleviating whatever effect they claim we're feeling now. They admitted after the 18 year pause in warming that this was because they failed to understand ocean cycles effect on warming, essentially admitting they understand nothing about the dynamics of temperature in the world. No matter how many bad predictions there are still those who will believe purely based on fear, even with abundant evidence to the contrary.

We don't need to give up beef. it would be better if we switched to grass fed or naturally grazed beef which is far more environmentally friendly. Mx Gates is a brilliant, articulate, autistic, practical nerd. No "We're all going to die in 10 years " AOC stupidity. I'd like to see him get on Rogan for one of Rogans marathon sessions. His views on cow farts, and the impracticality of asking middle world countries to accept the costs of green energy were insightful.
@gawdsuniverse3282
@gawdsuniverse3282 4 жыл бұрын
@@ericobut a hundred years ago large grazing animals numbered in the 100 million, now they nearly extinct. Today cattle, sheep, pigs and other herds don't come anywhere close to replacing those numbers. This argument farm animals are part of the problem is rubbish, the increase in the amount of land that would have to be farmed to replace the loss of this food source is massive, the harm to the environment incalculable. A lot of grazing land is unsuited to growing crops, it is only good for grass feed. Cows fart is causing climate change, the depths of the absurdity of this view explains why none of the over three hundred climate change models has ever been accurate, not one, all the predictions have been out by 3 degrees or more. It is not climate science, it is just opinion supported by the howling mob who want to believe any doomsday nonsense. The end is nigh is a phrase frequently used in relation to potential apocalyptic events of biblical proportion. SJW's should get this tattooed across their faces seeing as they want everyone to believe it, be depressed the world is about to end we're all doomed unless we slaughter all the cows, so they stop farting. Yeah, great science.

@@gawdsuniverse3282 references would be welcomed. To be clear, I like my meats, and see no need to stop. I will be trying a beyond burger. I hear they're good. My post was simply that Mx Gates sniffed factual, and able to engage in dialog. Also to be clear, I believe the USA Founders had it right regarding states rights. I believe that globalization runs counter to that. So I'm not aligned on a bunch of thing he said. I believe Mx Gates said cow farts contributed 6%, and that China, India, Brazil contributed the vast majority of greenhouse gas emissions. He also acknowledged that solutions needed to be accepted by the populace in an era when a 15% tax imposed on what appears to be France's working class was not accepted. And it was equally unacceptable for the 1st world nations to impose green on 2nd world populace when that came with a 90% increase in costs. Per my original post, he was not screaming 'we're all gonna die' and was calling out implementation problems, like calling the electricity storage problem 'a research miracle that hasn't occurred.'
@gawdsuniverse3282
@gawdsuniverse3282 4 жыл бұрын
@@ericobut I agree with your post, I'm pointing out the absurdity of the extreme left claiming domestic animals are part of climatic change. The greens want to force everyone to become a vegetarian, so they link farm animals into the doomsday predictions they love to scare children with. By thier logic, wild animals are greenhouse gas emitters too, so should we slaughter all creatures great and small, to 'save the planet' from methane gas. Of course not, climate change science is just gibberish, all the models are flawed and inaccurate. It is all based on causality, you fart you release methane gas, you raise the temperature, therefore, your farts cause climate change. The Science is rubbish, it's constantly being spun every day to cover the flaws, with evermore absurd solutions being touted as a solution. I'm for getting rid of pollution, people should not have to live in a bubble of toxic atmosphere just to have a job in a city. Why it takes a colossal doomsday lie to make changes happen is a testament to how ridiculous humanity is. 1000 years ago Vikings grew barley in Greenland, Romans grew grapes in Scotland, 5 million years ago the Arctic had an average temperature of 74 degrees. Core samples extracted from more than 1,000 feet below the Arctic Ocean floor prove this. Climate change is entirely dependent on how celestial bodies influence the weather on Earth. Of more significant is which way the Earth tilt is in comparison to the Sun. We have no control over this, we do have control over how we deal with it. De-industrialization of the West to save the planet just means these factory's go to the third world with all the human rights abuse and poor wages and working conditions. The Left is waging war against the first-world nations, climate change is thier best weapon, to attack farm animals as part of the 'problem' illustrates how extremely stupid thier arguments have become. I am a moderate, people would consider me centre-left, I deplore how violent and extreme the Left has become, they are doing more harm than good. They are definitely alienating the swing voters, the very people they need to make government. The mob has swung open the gates of the asylum and are being led by the inmates from crazy town, all in the name of 'saving the planet'.

What scientific knowledge are you seeking the physics that you have is back from the 1930s everything that's been developed scientifically has been developed 50 60 hundred years ago what is this new science you keep telling us somebody said MRI the other day if you look it up on the internet that was developed in 1934 What scientific discovery are you seeking mr. Bill Gates and the industrial complex of scientific research The last time I read history which are called books which is a relatively natural wise way to distribute knowledge Those people found essence of reality through observation with a very minimal of labs mostly of cognitive intellect of observation

Why would Bill Gates know better than the average intellectual in our midst as to what is best for us? He has loads of money, he can afford to lose on his bets, he will not go broke. It is not a choice of "A" vs "B". The laws of nature are absolute. The sooner we realise that these laws will define the limits of our goals, climatic or other, the better. Money can momentarily force aside the natural limits, but they can not last. Money equals gambling/risk-taking in every case. Winning every time is simply not possible. When the free money runs out and the wins turn into unsustainable loses, that is when tragedy sets in for the consumers, who pay for all this at the end. Can anyone imagine what would happen if we would lose, collectively, the electric power for one week only? How about for a month? So we are facing some very serious natural realities, should we say possible disasters if we fail in our irresponsible experimentation on a global scale. The governments, especially international institutions like the UN are entirely politics driven. They should be the last to decide on our future existence. The availability of energy/power to sustain our modern lifestyle is nothing less than an absolute prerequisite for our survival, not as a species, but as our social structure. Any gambling with power generation technologies that require subsidies to be able to compete should be left to the private sector entirely, governments should get out of it without delay. Private enterprises could afford to fail, like Bill Gates and many like him, governments can not on the long run without ruining the countries they are elected to protect.

As long as there is no solution for nuclear waste, nuclear is deeply unethical for the coming generations. There are tons of options and the technology does already exist. I suggest you ask a real expert like Prof Volker Quaschning instead of Bill.
