One of the best NFL Films songs ever! And to have it paired over vintage film of Johnny Unitas is beyond perfect. So glad I stumbled upon this video.

William Loose and Beverly Herrmann have some of the best tracks ever produced , end of story !...

I agree completely

Me too! Loose's music was the most unique period. Nice vid.

Definitely underrated, and too bad copyright issues prevented Loose scores from appearing on the Autumn Thunder set. Hermann was an alias for Bill Soden, and Martha Jane Weber was an alias as well.

Agree that, according to Volsky this is "Last Minute Victory" Remember that when it was used for the highlights, the shot was on the secondary (corners and safties backpedeling as the receivers were always going in attempt for a quick score.

Poor Johnny U at the end with the Chargers…Father Time is undefeated.

And replaced by Dan Fouts.

@@joenorris8220Who Unitas graciously tutored in 1973. Maybe no Super Bowl championship for Fouts, but a very solid career. Fouts himself said that the turning point in his career was the 1981 AFC championship game in Cincinnati with a feels like temperature of -59°F. His arm was never the same after that game.

It doesn't seem right that this track's title isn't known. It's such a staple of '70s NFL Films productions; it deserves "Up She Rises"-level name recognition.
@b17bomber Жыл бұрын
Agreed it's an iconic track. The track is actually called "Blank".. Which to me is even more ambiguous than "Untitled"
@tomfoolery815 Жыл бұрын
@@b17bomber Ah, I see. Yeah, the actual title doesn't help any with the ambiguity.

"Last Second Victory" may be the name of this song. 72 AFC Championship Mercury Morris on sideline with fingers crossed. Larry Seiple fake punt for a huge gain and huge momentum change
@b17bomber7 күн бұрын
"Last Second Victory" was a place holder title that was generated in the old NFL Films Yahoo group. The official track is "Untitled" as crazy as that sounds.

AKA Last Second Victory

yeah that title was generated by the old yahoo group devoted to NFL Films which I ran, as a placeholder title as we tried to learn the true title and composer.

He was not just old as a charger but also old and on a bad chargers team at the time.

Johnny U looked slick in his blue high-tops but he should have retired as a Colt.
@WayneKeen Жыл бұрын
Joe Thomas traded him away, along with a number of the Colts stars at the time. He was able to rebuild in just a few years through the draft, and he was thought to be a genius. Then he went to the 49ers, and made a royal mess of things out there.

I got to see the Bengals play Unitas in person when I was 9 yrs old when he played for the drug infested Chargers. It was weird.
@JAWrightonline Жыл бұрын
The way the Chargers played at that time, the drug must have been Nightquil.😴😴😴

@@JAWrightonlineThe Chargers finished with a 2-11-1 record that season, including a 0-6-0 record in the division. Nothing to write home about for sure.

If they would have given old Johnny more time to throw maybe he could have done a little more damage to a few more opponents.
