That isn’t inherently wrong. While I don’t agree with Bill (with practically anything that comes out his mouth) you can’t debunk what he says by saying “unless it disagrees with his” because that’s not an inherent disqualifier. For example, I say 2+2=4. Someone else says no it equals 5. I say that person is wrong because he disagree with me. It sounds wrong but it’s actually a correct statement. He’s legitimately wrong because he disagree with me

One thing for sure forbidding a woman's hair to be seen, a meager hair, is excessive. So much as to enforce it like in Iran right now where disagree to wear them means jail, and jail time for those protesting against them, with blasphemy jail persecutions to those who speak badly or simply disagreeing about the hijab, even in 'moderate' islamic majority countries with significant nonmuslim minority such as Malaysia or Indonesia. The irony is that male doesnt has to cover his hair like women do, you think women don't have lust?
@Prostopyotr
@Prostopyotr Жыл бұрын
@@andi2658 Men do have to show modesty?!?!? I’m assuming you don’t know much about Islam, but I’m glad I can teach you, if you so accept. In Islam, there is something called awrah, which is the body parts that you should cover to be modest. There is a difference in opinion, but depending on where you stand, men will cover their hair with an "amamah" (turban). There are also those who believe women don’t need to cover their hair! It’s important to know that women are not oppressed in Islam. Before it was suggested that women cover with a headscarf in Islam, men were told to lower their gaze toward women. In marriage, what the husband owns becomes the wife’s. In marriage, the man must give his wife a "mehr," which can be anything and often involves large sums of money. It’s important to acknowledge that a government isn't just its people. Iran has a very corrupt government, but it’s stupid to assume every Muslim is corrupt too. There is a reason why Islam is the fastest-growing religion and why Christianity is in decline. The last thing I want to point out is your opinion on how extreme the dress code is. I assume you’re American, so if you go to Europe, you’d be surprised to find that nudity is not taboo at all. While most Europeans don’t find nudity taboo, you do because of American culture and religion. In the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa, it’s taboo to flaunt around in revealing clothes like miniskirts and short-shorts because of culture and religion. It’s fine to be ignorant, but don’t argue as if your lack of knowledge is the truth.

I would like to give some input here... 1. Yes we wear hijab and there are still differences on what considered as hijab in islam. Not to fight over it but to have options. You'll see women with usual clothes (long skirt, long sleeves shirt) and a hijab to cover their hair, but there's also women who will cover every part of their body except eyes (mostly in middle eastern country). The essence it still the same: Not seeking validation through revealing your body to people. 2. It's weird to me why non-muslim think hijab is some kind of oppression. I don't think everyone who wears short and tight clothes is because they're comfortable in it, most of them aren't even practical it's more because they think it looks good. As a muslim i think it's more oppressive you're considered beautiful only when people can see almost of you. It's so mind bogling how clothes these days are almost like wearing nothing it eliminates the function of clothes in the first place. 3. What i don't understand is why the americans mask sexualizing themselves with empowerment. We should love ourselves and feel good about ourselves but i don't think wearing revealing clothes is the way to do it. It shuold be a mental thing not something only on the surface like clothes.
@nilsar4357
@nilsar4357 Жыл бұрын
"It's weird to me why non-muslim think hijab is some kind of oppression" Why is that weird??? In some muslim-majority places, not wearing a hijab could lead to public confrontation. There's even whole discussion about the "sinful" implications about it. That's what's weird to non-muslims. "We should love ourselves and feel good about ourselves" Exactly. So no one should be crying about someone else wearing short clothes at all. Unlike the case of hijab or Burqa, there's no ancient institution deciding what to and what not to wear. "As a muslim i think it's more oppressive you're considered beautiful only when people can see almost of you". Not really. That's biology. Humans have an inherent desire to look presentable and attractive. That includes variety of clothes and the combo of clothes and skin. Meanwhile, in Islam, the HIjab and Burqa are advised in most cases to maintain privacy from unrelated males or in other (and harsher) words, avoid sexualization of women for simply being a woman. Sorry.... But being free to wear any dress you want without being looked down upon by an ancient institution is not oppression.

@@nilsar4357And in Europe a women can get Punched or beaten for wearing a hijab/burkha, so my question is one one side Europeans and Americans (same thing) love to label hijab oppressive but at the same time they want to force women to not wear by lynching them, what's up with that ? And why can't women wear what they want to in Europe or america ? And the countries wearing full body clothes is mandatory are gulf Arab countries, and that makes sense scientifically, you can't literally show your skin in the heat of the desert otherwise you'll get skin diseases if you don't cover, Israel has one of the highest skin cancer rates because those Europeans aren't religious and they like to wear short clothes, go to beaches and stuff, same goes for Australia or new Zealand so you cannot blame those gulf Arabs for imposing such laws on their people, and sexualization/objectification is when women wear ridiculous clothes to tease their body, that's sexualization, women are mentally forced to wear uncomfortable clothes in order to gain attention where women in most Islamic countries wear hijab because they want to they feel good in it that no man can see them or sexualize them
@nilsar4357
@nilsar4357 Жыл бұрын
@@slowknife2873 Comparing random cases of confrontation with women for wearing burqas/hijabs in one part of the world with religio-politically enforced laws related to burqas/hijabs is not a good argument. Good thing xenophobes have gotten arrested and publicly criticised in Europe and many other parts of the world. Unfortunately in some other more conservative parts of the world, if a woman refuses to wear the same, they might get punished and the public will praise the law. That was my point. Another important point to remember: If someone tries to implement a law against hijab/burqa in Europe, there is full freedom for the public to protest against it. But if women are thinking about standing up to the punishment regarding refusal to wear burqa/hijab in Islamic nations, there's not much freedom to protest. That itself will be considered "Anti-national" or "Anti-religious" and consequently a crime. Another thing to remember: If a woman doesn't wear burqa/hijab and gets raped by men for unrelated reasons, the women's refusal to wear burqa/hijab will receive a share of the blame. There's multiple cases like that even in India involving women simply wearing jeans and T-shirt. And yes...... Covering the body so that men are not tempted is an ironic way of sexualizing. Regardless of culture, attraction towards the physical form is a constant. Good thing the West realised the difference between sexual attraction and sexual assault, and that sexual assault or related regressive misogynist ideas has everything to do with the assaulter and not the victim's way of clothing. Some places in the East have yet to learn that
@slowknife2873

@@nilsar4357 I'm pretty sure more women have been lynched for wearing hijab in west than in Muslim countries for not wearing it, I mean why would anyone even have the thought not doing something you've been taught to do since you were born ? Most religious people are muslims and the reason for that isn't just men forcing their ideas on their women, if that was the case Muslims countries would've been the most unhappiest in the world but that is not the case, there's 1 in thousand case where you'll find a woman that actually feels oppressed for wearing hijab and that one women will probably be a feminist brainwashed by western influences, and feminists are known to ha te the majority community of men they live in the country of, and their religious cultural beliefs, no country in the world is perfect in their eyes xenophobes aren't always arrested in Europe, there are towns and cities full of supremacists in Europe and america, and whole India is filled with Hindu xenophobes who are actually praised for doing some sort of discrimination to minorties specifically Muslims, and again, why would women in Muslim countries form groups to rebel against? As I said there's a 1 in thousand chance you'll find a women living in a Muslim country that ha tes it's laws, every country has its own version of freedom of speech and that victim blaming is mostly popular in poor countries in general, like south Asian countries, I've seen indians blame Ra ped women for their clothing and saying if they wore sarees and more traditional clothes they won't be Ra ped, which is ironic since indian traditional clothes reveals more skin than typical jeans and shirts, victim blaming is linked to lack of education and that's your mentality, if you think wearing modest clothes for various reasons is sexualizing than we also thing that wearing short clothes is sexualizing and objectifying, I mean why would a women wear short uncomfortable clothes without any reason ? If you're a an India than you need to decolonize yourself culturally, western society's lifestyle and culture is not the benchmark of progress

A white man with no substance when he deems another religion pathological?. 3. Mike tyson has a heavy influence and example on people more specifically American men on how to turn there life around. Remember this man was very unhappy before he accepted Islam. 4. At the end it's all a choice. You don't see muslim countries trying to change the west because of their way of living or their women. Bill gotta chill and take the zionist propaganda money elsewhere.

As far as I know, women are not allowed to walk around naked on the streets in America. How is that not oppresive? If you think that there should be a limit for what people can wear in public, who sets that line? And who is Bill Maher to set this limit according to his visual taste?

After reading some of the comments here. It's interesting to me how some of the women are defending covering themselves in the name of modesty. Well wait a second. Why would you need to be modest if men just simply stopped objectifying women. Only religion could make women responsible for men's thoughts and actions.

He gets into places new York schools don't. Like Texas. Obama won Texas because of us all. Crazy how Gen z tried to take credit. They're looney. But we grew up with the looney tunes.

Mike Tyson is just following a very California-variant of Islam. It’s very common among celebrities to pick a faith or group that is controversial to display a form of bravery. Bottom line is that Mike Tyson probably has very little understanding on actual Islam.

I would agree with that. I like Mike but I don't think that he has any understanding AT ALL how Islam is in most Islamic countries. He can have that kind of perspective because he's an American Muslim practicing Islam in America, like Bill Maher said. If Tyson were living in a Muslim country, if he did actually think that way, he certainly wouldn't be able to verbalize it out loud.
