Bill Monroe - The Father of Bluegrass in his own words along with important interviews from other bluegrass boys. A great timeline of Bluegrass music history. (Low-quality VHS tape early 90's)

The old coot made his bandmembers work on his farm when not performing.

how else are you going to have every bluegrass musician in the world go through the band so they can learn it, if he doesn't give them a reason to leave? I'm sure it wasn't Bill's intention he was just a hard man to work for but the fact that people kept leaving is why bluegrass became a genre instead of just one band.

Bill Monroe was NOT an old coot . He was the most respected man in the world when the subject " bluegrass music" was brought up. I had the HONOR to shake his hand at Bean blossom in 1971 when I came back from Vietnam. He belongs on Mount Rushmore? R. I.P. Mister Monroe - What a man? They don't make men like him anymore . Nuff said 🙏🇺🇲
