This brings back alot of memories. Watched Bill for years pull against the VenHuizens and Wayne Longnecker in Freeport. I think Bill put a wide front end on the tractor at some point.

I saw him pull in Peoria Illinois at the heart of Illinois fair back in the 70's

Holy cow. I think I'd need a cage to sit on that thing. How fast does it pull?

At least I had a helmet, earplugs, & firesuit this time!!! First time I ran it, I was dressed in shorts & a tee shirt!!! We have pictures of Bill, back in the day, with a light jacket, and a seedcorn cap!!! That was the attire back then!!! It got to 24 MPH on this pass

Are the Allison's 2 stroke or 4 stroke engines? I asked just trying to visualize the crankshaft.
@garymorris7064 жыл бұрын
It's a 4 cycle engine.

Built in superchargers and 1710 cu in . shaft drive overhead cams. One badass 80 or old engine!

Awesome video thanks for sharing! I saw a recent BangShift article from March 2022 about this tractor and was wondering if it will be perofrming at any events in the midwest (WI/IL/IA/MN) this summer? Would really love to see and hear that Allison V12 in action!

Thanks!!! I wish it were!!!! I would love to hook it again!!! Not running quite right, and we can't seem to find time to get it fixed. ☹

@@garymorris706 Thanks for the quick response and sorry to hear that the tractor is being temperamental. Do you have any plans to show it on display at any farm heritage events this summer? We're planning to bring my grandpa's Alliss Chalmer Model B to the Badger Engine Club meet in Baraboo in August. Where is your shop located? It might not be too far of a drive for me to just come and see the tractor if you wouldn't mind a visit? Have a good one!

@@CheeseheadMotors no problem!!! Slow day today!!! 😌 There's a small show in Franklin Grove, Il., in August. Only 7 miles from home, and featuring MM's. I might try to get it there, along with a couple of my others. I'm outside of Dixon, IL., and welcome visitors. Look up "Living History Antique Equipment," for their show flyer.

@@garymorris706 I hope you've been enjoying the summer! Just wanted to check in to see if you were planning to bring the V12 MM tractor to the LHEA event next weekend? Not sure if I'll be able to make the drive down from WI but if you are planning to run/demonstrate it I will try to make it happen. Otherwise, would it be possible to coordinate a visit to your shop some other time later in the summer or fall? I would love to see and hear that Allison rumble!

@@CheeseheadMotors unfortunately we are leaving on vacation next Friday. And the show is only 7 miles from me!!!! And featuring MM'S this year!!! We still don't have it running right. I would love to get it running, and show it off, but we can't seem to get it done. You are welcome to stop by, and visit when we get back home.

Here's a stupid question? (Because) I know nothing about a V 12 Is it gas or diesel
@dianebehling30823 жыл бұрын
gas
@thomashogan72723 жыл бұрын
Also, pretty sure it was an aircraft engine from WW2.
@anthonydilligaf8233 жыл бұрын
They often burn alcohol.. But it was designed for aviation gas. Its a v12 4 valve per cylinder supercharged engine. That was designed just before ww2.. And even then put out ~1200-1500 shp.
@thomashogan72723 жыл бұрын
@@anthonydilligaf823 and it made that power at 3,000 RPM with 6.6:1 compression ratio.
@anthonydilligaf8233 жыл бұрын
@@thomashogan7272 Well.. It DID ultimately use supercharging etc. The low compression is likely why we're talking about these engines 80 years later..
