I’m glad House finally called out Simmons irrational love for Evan Mobley. Mobley is a really good young player that will be great but Philly ain’t trading Embiid for him nor is New Orleans trading Zion for him. Put him in the Haliburton, Edwards, Banchero tier and honestly all of those guys as of now I think are better players than Mobley and Lamelo deserves to be in that group too. @@prattredd349 Tragic. But as a medical professional I look at this scientifically. There is a certain error rate with ANY medical procedure, even non-invasive ones. Their effectiveness is balanced against that risk, and is occasionally re-evaluated. Colonoscopies? Catching and removing polyps early and identifying high risk individuals extends life span and greatly outweighs the risk. Breast exams? Same logic but recently reevaluated and pushed later in life because the X-Rays involved push risk too high to justify their use in younger women (unless you have a family history, which is a major risk factor!) Approval for the COVID vaccine was denied kids under 5. They just weren't at risk enough from COVID to justify it. (Yes, even vaccines carry a tiny risk, though our immune systems are constantly challenged, multiple times a day). The point is this is the noise of the universe. A surgeon did not necessarily screw this up. And a public service announcement: don't get procedures unless they are medically necessary. There is always that occasional bad result with a plastic surgery.

I'm happy for you, as a Bulls "fan" to watch Lauri become the most valuable asset and to have traded him for a lottery protected pick (Portland?) and DJJ just made me realize how sad a franchise can become with several bad moves. I was on the sinking ship with Lauri and believed he just needed some time and health. Like we needed a big and we could have asked for Larry Nance or just kept Gafford even if Lauri had to go. As a fan, I ultimately just get to watch as 'professionals' make decisions on players. The rage I used to feel is now gone, I respect any love for the game. I have turned from a city fan to a fan of the game and the players. If anyone cares 🏀 P.S. Luka was obviously the #1 and it was hilarious to watch anyone to think otherwise. It's fun to watch other teams and players succeed.

I think that Andrew Wiggins is more than just a three and D guy. He's been very good at both of those things while he's been at golden state and is shooting something like 45% from three this year which is just crazy because it's not on a very small sample or a very small amount each night. Obviously that will most likely come down. I think he plays a lot of the three and D game because they need him to but when he's the main scorer out there he has no problem getting to the rim.
@David-iv6je
@David-iv6je Жыл бұрын
Mmm. He clearly showed he was clutch in what can be called the Redemption Series for him. I think he's above a 3 and D guy. But that's the name for guys who are stars on bad teams. Is he really different than the #1 draft in MIN? I'll answer myself: maybe yes, at least 3rd option guy on a contender. He's having the best year of his career. Clearly part of that is playing next to a generational talent. But he has leveled up a bit, especially from 3. 45% on 7.2 attempts? Dayum.

@@David-iv6je not only that he has the bag and the physical size to get to the basket when he wants. I think the other guys from the three and D category are mostly guys who do just those two things. Everything you said in your post is why he is the best 3 and D wing…he can lock up the best scorer and he can make 3’s….what am I missing. He is not a reliable first option on any team, let alone a contending team. His play in GS has been great, but he is nowhere near the top of the defenses priority list in terms of what to slow down from the warriors offense. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to prove he is more than this archetype of player until Curry retires, or he is traded. Curry demands way too much attention to put any other perimeter player on his team higher on this list.

Dame is definitely a great individual player and a HOF, but on any legit title contending team, he’s more of a #2 than a #1. Maybe he realizes that Dame as a franchise guy is only gonna take a team so far, especially a going on 33 year old Dame.

I don’t understand the narrative that it’s not the teams fault for signing a player, like Bradley Beal or Zach Lavine, when they know what they were getting, knew they weren’t contending, and had time to trade him. It is the teams fault, it’s called having perspective

it's not a sexy pick but i think steven adams has been a top 70 guy just based on the value he brings to his team, every team he's on is a lock for a top offensive rebounding team, top defensive team, and he's easily the top enforcer in the league. One of the best screeners in the league, probably the hardest guy to move down low, very hard to get positioning against him, and he just does every little thing. He's been a starting center on really good teams for a long time for a good reason, and he would've been a walking double double if russ wasn't robbing him of defensive rebounds. And this is in retrospect, but he averaged a career his 11.5 boards at age 29. Career high last year too getting 10 a game. The on off stats for him and the grizzlies in the playoffs were also astounding last year. Super valuable, but as a trade value it's a little more fishy. He was making big bucks in this season, but His extension he signed in memphis is great value at under 13 a year for 2 more years. it's a little crazy he got traded with a. pick for Jonas Valanciunas. The only thing he does better is a little bit of spacing and he's a better scorer. That Pelicans year was very tough. Putting him in the same front court as zion was baffling.

I think Bill is making a mistake by ranking the players who you would rather have in a trade between the two players. The metric should look at how many teams would rather have one player over the other and then go from there.

Why is Kawhi so low? When he's healthy he's a one man championship (I understand he's not healthy a lot). In regard to basketball, why would Lebron be so much higher than him? Lebron brings people to watch, but I don't think that's what the video is about. If teams had a choice between Kawhi and Lebron TODAY to win a championship, I can't imagine anyone would choose Lebron. Not just about Lebron, though, true for most players. How many players would be chosen over Kawhi to win a championship. I can understand the younger guys on cheap contracts would have a higher trade value, but don't understand Butler, Chris Paul, and most others.

Luka probably doesn't drink sweet tea. As a lifelong Texan I can inform you that tea in Texas is served unsweetened and you have the option to sweeten it with real sugar or artificial sweetener as you like. When I moved to North Carolina I found out that tea was always served sweetened and it was a pretty big surprise to me. Since Luka is in Dallas he would have to sweeten the tea himself.

you're making the same argument for lebron curry and butler, they're all old unique fantastic players on massive contracts and wouldn't want to leave their respective cities, so i don't understand the huge ranking discrepancy between the three, they should all be in a mid-20s tier of their own with KD, Dame, Kawhi, maybe Harden and PG. And also - if youth and contract aren't the only rubrics we're looking at here and we're talking about all-star production in any system over next couple years, there is no way in hell mikaal bridges and anfernee simons have more trade value then zach lavine, let alone lebron goddamn james. The wizards have won 5 series since 1979 and Wall was the leader for 3 of them.
