Ben Simmons will go down as a cautionary tale, a boogeyman, to billionaire owners of pro sports teams. He successfully grifted hundreds of millions of dollar from these tax evading 1%ers. It's all legal, so they can't touch him. I see Ben collecting the last of his big money, signing for minimum 3 to 4 season contract and playing his usual minimum, and then retiring at very young age when it's done.

Except for injuries & "injuries". The biggest problem in the entire league (except new young teams like OKC) is: The big superstars that are past their 30s and prime and still have 50 mill contracts. Completely sabotaging any potential a team has. Shoutout: Suns, Heat, Bucks, Lakers.

Ernie has already said he won't leave TNT, and he's older, I'm not sure he wouldn't rather retire at this point then start at a new company with new people, so I kind of think House is right. Also right about Zaslav, but he already is a public enemy with so many of his idiot decisions, he doesn't care. Similar to what Wose said, he's just hanging on cutting costs, setting up few things (like DC, reality show shit on MAX), before WB eventually gets bought by Amazon before 2030 and he gets a parachute of hundreds of millions.

I I hate to tell you though the NBA isn't rigged it's certainly biased towards big teams in big markets in big games for long series there's no back alley deals but the executives keep this regime of refs in power because those back alley conversations don't need to be had they understand hundreds of millions of dollars are at stake Between a 7 game series with the Knicks Rather than the pacers advancing. The lakers have 250 free throw differential and the knicks are number 2 and I'm sure it's just a coincidence those are the 2 biggest markets historically

Absolutely. $100+ billion organizations don't leave millions of dollars on the table for the purity of 'fate' without trying to influence the odds in their favor. Over the years, through hundreds of professional referees, there are those agents who emerge who understand the assignment and can execute it with precision and deniability - with prudence only in certain games - without the bosses having to explicitly spell it out in a contract. It's not foolproof. Occasionally athletes will still overcome the odds being stacked against them with the pivotal momentum shifts and key players getting in foul trouble, etc. In the end, the sport still needs to appear to have full integrity. That line felt crossed in 2002 WCF Lakers-Kings.

In the long run, WB will probably be better off without the NBA. Regarding the pre game show, Ernie has said he wants to stay at TBS even if they lose the NBA. And chuck has said he can’t see himself doing the show without Ernie. So, it may be the end of that group.

I actually don’t think so. With the internet and streaming services ratings and advertising revenue is in the toilet for these big companies who own a bunch of cable stations. Live Sports is like the only thing that still draws big numbers and high ad rev.

Here’s what I think is really bad for Ben Simmons. If he were 6’2’ or even 6’5”- he could just be a rich entrepreneur, but the man is 6ft 10in tall!! He is an unmistakeable NBA athlete. So, the Nuggets just tied up the series with the Wolves. Let me throw a hypothetical out there. Everyone is comparing Edwards to Jordan but what if it's Jokic and the Nuggets who follow the 90s Bulls' path and the Wolves play the part of the Knicks? First round last year. This year second round while giving them way more than anyone expected. Nuggets stumble around a bit but ultimately win it again. Next year, they meet in the WCF and the whole season has been building to this. The Wolves are primed and ready and even look like they are actually going to do it but Jokic goes to yet another crazy gear and the Nuggets take them down again and then 3-peat. Jokic retires because he's bored and tired of all the hate. He's gone for a couple of years but then realizes that he wants to run the biggest horse ranch in Eurasia and notices that Naz Reid signed for $40 million per year. So, he comes back, the Nuggets have signed a focused and rejuvenated Marcus Smart along with a replenished bench, Jokic discovers a new genuine joy in the game and goes for another 3 chips.

This is what happens when you have someone at a 4th location recording self produced video from 3 other locations. Improving the production would require producers in all 3 locations lol.
