One of my fav drummers of all time. I saw him with Sco at Mississippi Nights in STL years ago. And my god - I can't believe how much he looks like Alan Tudyk. It's uncanny...

It's really valuable to hear (and see) a major, modern drummer give tips about how to play more musically. Bill Stewart may indeed be as musical a drummer as there is today!

+henry diaz I agree Henry. His latest albums from 2015, with John Scofield, Nicholas Payton, and Michael Rosen, are unbelievably well-performed by Stewart. His creativity is truly bottomless! Plus, he's got a brand-new solo album coming out on January 1st. I can't wait!! Take good care, Dr. Bob Weathers, Irvine, California

Good to hear on the new recordings. I've been a Bill Stewart fan since the release of Scofields "What We Do" CD and I go back to that reference of cool musicianship over and over. Tim Hagan's "No Words" is another great recording from back then with Stewart on drums and the very first time I heard "Noogaloo" from it on a late night jazz radio I recognized Stewart as the drummer. He's that great!

He seems to use each piece of his kit, with the exception of the ride cymbal, in equal amounts while grooving.

Joseph David Calderon Garcia ...his signature Zildjian Complex dry ride. I have a 22’ and it sounds fantastic!

He’s an amazing drummer, but I personally don’t like what he plays. Good job, though.

Gabe Blums listen to his telepathy album or him in kevan hayes trio. Guy is burning bro. His vocabulary goes deep. Think about what you just heard in 20 seconds of him playing.
