I never understood why Bill Ward and Geezer Butler rarely received the credit due to them!? I'm not trying to take anything away from the other great drummers and bass players of that era, but really!!!???? Alone each could hold their own with anyone !!! Then put them together...... well..... one of the if not the best sound and musical foundations in all of music!!!!

Bill was the best.
@christheghostwriter6 ай бұрын
@ejohnson3837 I was a huge Sabbath fan in high school, and I became a semi professional drummer largely because of their influence. Moreover, I wasn't really into Zeppelin back then, mostly because they were too popular with the normies. Having said that, Ward is not "better" than Bonham, and Bonham had technical abilities that exceeded Ward's. Ward had great time, feel, and swing, but he wasn't as technically adept as Bonham.

I had the utter joy of seeing Black Sabbath on the 2005 Ozzfest. Well, I should say the utter joy of seeing Bill, Tony and Geezer together, which was magnificent. Ozzy's voice gave out early and he stormed off stage. He "sang" to a track for the rest of the show. Oh well.
@lawrencearansaspasstx43745 жыл бұрын
I have been a fan of Black Sabbath since 1971. I always found each of the four members to be an intricate part of the band. I lost interest after Ozzy got booted, but never lost interest in the original four. I have heard solo projects from each and was not disappointed. I have wondered what Bill Ward was doing and am so happy to see him back and performing. He is STILL the MASTER of the drum kit!🥁Thanks for posting this!(Bill!Get Geezer up there with you!)
