“I'm not a virtuoso, but I was able to write songs that people could identify with. I don't think I've done bad for a guy from Slab Fork, West Virginia." that's what Bill said afterwards. Wow. Bill's version made this song one of the greatest songs of all time. But Stevie just took it to another level. Love seeing Bill just watch Steveie do his thing close up, especially when Bill gets overcome with joy at 2:15 when Stevie jumps octave at the "I know, I know,..." break. How lucky to write such a great song, and then have Stevie embody it and give it back to you for 3 minutes .

She told me a girl in her school band lost her hearing last year and tried multiple instruments till she could feel one. Shes now playing Sax and was good enough to make the school band just off feeling the vibrations. The power of music is really something that just keeps on giving.

Bill Withers, an icon of the music industry. His song writing ability is second to none. When I need that little bit of time out and to get into my own zone, I put on a Bill Withers song. Thank you Bill.

@Sandra Jones yes, Bill has so much respect for other professional performance artists like Stevie Wonder, almost too much. The fact is, Bill is an *outstanding* performance artist (as well as composer), and Stevie Wonder wasn't even close to singing Bill's signature tune as well as Bill does. Its painful to watch. Bill is very humble, talented and demanding (high pro standards). If anything, this award which is so richly deserved will convince Bill of how great he truly is. His fans already know.
