I listen to very difeerent genres of music, but I was raised on rock. Rock also helped me go through teenage years. I'm now almost 30, listening everything from rap to cheesy pop but rocky songs coming back is so frikin awesome! I was in shock after hearing this song!

The last 20 seconds that’s just a black screen is on purpose Billie Eilish is the first artist I’ve ever seen do this when she post a video or anything it is there so that does pop up ads at the end of music videos or KZfaq clips do not block any of the actual music video because she does not want it to take away from the aesthetic those clips are not allowed to be on the screen for more than 16 seconds so she makes it 18 seconds to 20 seconds so that they do not take anything away from her video

You’re right it’s a ukulele and you’re also right her vision is Paris in the 1920s and 30s with several of these songs she talked about it in a couple of her interviews here recently

It starts out like a torch song in a softly lit room with vintage vibe and then transitioned into a rock driven song full of raw emotion .

This is the reaction I was waiting for! The performance you're referring to was the one she did for Amazon. She made it set in Paris because she said she loved it there. I also got a vintage vibe, like an old 1940's movie. She's definitely an "old" soul.

I'm so in love with this artist and her brother...brilliant writing, excellent use of musicality...telling a story through the instruments...she has combined her beauty with her intelligence into a masterpiece!!! By the way, she leaves the last 17 seconds blank to prevent KZfaq from attaching ads to her music videos, or that is what I was led to believe. Thank you for helping me get "out of my head!". I've been listening to her album non-stop since the release day and i can definitely say this is her best album. And this track is the best track on the album for sure. For me it was an emotional roller-coaster and i literally wanted to scream with Billie in the 2nd part of the song so as to release all those emotions that drives my crazy.

I think it's a small acoustic guitar with a capo on it that creates that ukelele sound (that is from seeing a clip of her and Finneas working on the song).

Thanks for covering Billie's new album - I didn't see the livestream, so I saw the tracks on you tube, but I have somehow lost that and so my comments are on that extended reaction ( I believe from about an hour ago today ). [ I did see this reaction late Friday and like it - I believe "Happier Than Ever" is my favorite track on the album ]; I can't find reactions to the individual tracks, except for this one. But here's my comment: On "Getting Older" you wondered why she used "weird" instead of "strange" - the line was "it's so weird". I don't know why, but Billie often divides up words in unnatural ways - she will divide up works or bend them - one syllable words into two. I think she may have figured "WE - IRD" is easier to bend than "strange". In "YOUR POWER" she sings "you ru---ined her" [ I have never heard that word split into two distinct syllables before. IN "HALLEY'S COMET" she sings the word "quite" as "QU---ITE". She bending them, I think to make them part of a run - but I believe it's unusual - I'm not familiar with RAP, perhaps words are bent or shaped in new ways in RAP, and she is using that technique as a tool for her songs. And I believe it's also in "GETTING OLDER" (can't recall for sure, where she opposes the word "NEGLECTION" to getting "ATTENTION" - I believe we would have said "neglected"; "NEGLECTION" isn't in my Merriam Webster's dictionary, but I googled it today, and see that it is a real word in BRITISH ENGLISH. She does like doing things her way!

I’m honestly pretty surprised that so many people are unfamiliar with nylon string guitars. I know ukuleles are more familiar, but I had no idea that so many folks are entirely unfamiliar with a nylon-string guitar. I guess I’m biased because I learned to play on one, but wow. I guess I know now. This song is so incredible, I’m about 6 hours deep into watching reaction videos because it’s SUCH a reveal!

actually the "leave me fucking alone" part kinda reminds of olivia. in fact, i can imagine olivia singing something that sounds like the whole second part of the song. it's not a bad thing, really. songs giving the same vibes happen all the time. i love both of them so i'd love it if they are making more songs like that because they are just my cup of tea
