I think this song can be interpreted differently by everyone (that's what makes art so beautiful), but for me I see it having two different meanings. Depression or Abusive relationship with another person or ones-self. Thought I found a way Thought I found a way, yeah (found) But you never go away (never go away) So I guess I gotta stay now In depression we, have fleeting moments of happiness. Moments when we finally think we have made it past the storm, but then we relapse and we don't have the strength to pull ourselves out, so we just stay in the pain until the next moment of happiness breaks through. In abusive relationships, sometimes we find the strength to break away from the person holding our chains, but some how we manage to get pulled back into it. By their charisma or empty promises to change. We stay, out of shame or the belief that maybe this broken relationship is all we deserve.
