I have always been kind of confused about whether or not I am a tomboy , I mean since I was a kid I always have short hair , initially it was because of my medical conditions even though I used to like long hair but now I prefer my hair short over long hair due to the hazards of taking care .......then again having a sports background I am more physically capable and energetic where as I have seen other girls always avoids physical activity on contrary I get excited , about dressing up I usually go with trousers and tshirts because it's very comfortable. ...because of these It was my friends who started addressing me a tomboy , I never thought myself as tomboy before, but then I love dressing up in occasion... When I dress up everyone is like are you the same person !! You too wear dresses & ear rings! ! Lol its always fun with their reaction

It is not complicated. It's just that we're not usually socialized this way here in the U.S. if you're not "girly " , you're a "tomb boy". If you are hairy and decide not to shave, you're made out to be "manly". That we all have both energies is a very simple idea that society has made difficult to always realize.

she really makes me feel validated in so many ways. growing up for me was like, i felt boyish in many ways (i am biologically female), but also had a girly side too and it was always a struggle to try and balance the two out. i always related to billie in many ways, i just feel like we'd understand each other lol. now that i'm an adult, same age as her actually, i feel comfortable in being genderfluid. just letting myself be whoever and dress however i want. i love being myself. billie helped me to see that.

I’m a cishet dude who tends to lean toward more feminine behaviors (being very sensitive to other people’s emotions, being a caregiver, etc) and color palettes (I’m about that pink and purple all day, as well as “cotton Candy,” but also wacky colors) and it has not been and easy life. Someone of Billie’s status has so many eyes on her and everyone has something to say, so she’s dealing with it 24/7. We’re at the point where this shouldn’t be an issue and I have so much faith in Gen Z to turn it around; no one has had the determination and political power that y’all have.

Why she thought that being a masculine woman made her less of a girl so broken. You don’t have to pretend to be a girl when you are a girl. as a non-binary person, i really relate to billy's struggle with her masculine and feminine side. i feel this constant pressure to either dress completely androgynous or completely fem/masc. i have ro constantly remind myself that yeah, i can dress how i want and i shouldn't have to dress according to what people expect of me. i have to allow myself to just do what i want. its hard
@nunyab7434
@nunyab7434 Жыл бұрын
you can dress both fem and masc without calling yourself non binary…. there’s no such thing as non binary. you can still be called the gender you were born with, &dress however you want. the concept of having no gender or choosing to have no gender defies logic&reality, it was something created by the trans community, bc being trans wasn’t special &unique enough anymore,so they made this new special label.They continue to create new labels& people just adapt them as soon as a newer, more trendy &unique one comes.
@livvyyyyyyyyyyy
@livvyyyyyyyyyyy Жыл бұрын
@@nunyab7434you can dress fem and masculine without being non-binary however, some people really are non-binary. Non-binary is more then how you dress, since clothes don’t determine gender. You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. Leave trans people alone. Being trans isn’t the same thing as cross dressing.

I hear you. Also non binary and always have presented masculine since day 1 but there were days I was curious about how femininity feels and I'd try on someone else's dress and just pretend for a minute because I didnt want to be seen in feminine clothes (same way a boy would feel if they were curious about femininity). Express however you want. Its just expression. Its superficial. Nothing will change what you really are, and thats an unique person who just happens to be enby. ❤

Being masculine and feminine has actually not so much to do with the close but with how your attitude is. Being for instance receptive, passive, chaotic, creative, empathic is feminine. Being masculine comes with being active, logic, giving, structured, to name just view. Women or girls are mainly more masculine when they have learnt or need to protect themselves. That is pattern which is learnt in order to feel safe.

just because all women don't fit in a very steriotypical box, doesn't mean we are masculine. We aren't men. There are people that have soft or strong personalities, there are people that are more straight forward and others that have issues speaking their mind, some people's favorite color might be pink, or blue, or red, or whatever and that still doesn't make you masculine or feminine. We are all women and we can have our own personalities without having to be labeled "masculine". Which can be very offensive for those who struggle to feel as "woman enough" with all the steriotypes and beauty standards. We are all women and we are great in our own way

I really felt her on that and legit almost cried because I’ve always been like that and my mom actually got mad at me because I refused to wear feminine clothing such and dresses but one day my boyfriend talked to me and let me know two things: 1.he would love me however I chose to dress and 2. As long As I am comfortable with what I am wearing everything is ok, but I will never know unless I try stepping out of that comfort zone. So I stepped out of that comfort zone and it wasn’t the end of my life and I wasn’t betraying myself like i thought I would be.

Thats great! I dont know why anyone would feel that way though, could you describe it for me? I mean, ive never heard about a girl hesitating to dress boyish.. but the opposite seems to be common for some reason

When I was little I played with Barbie but I also played with trucks. I mostly just thought up creative ways to torture Barbie by running her over with the trucks but still. One year I was tinker bell for Halloween. The next year I was spiderman. I’ve always felt masculine too but there’s a little bit of a feminine side to me. I don’t show it often but it’s there

When balanced, masculine is energy that is logical/methodical, in action, doing, problem solving, supportive, values empathy.. And balanced feminine energy is flowing(not controlling), nurturing, compassionate, empathetic, patience, emotional..

when will we stop associating dresses with feminine and hoddies with masculine? Id NORMAL that a girl wants to wear her pants and hoodies and not wearing make up or use tiny and revealing clothes. That doesnt make us less girls cause girl is not synonimous of clothing

Exactly. If more people realised that they can be both masculine and feminine and that it doesn't necessarily mean you need to be a different gender then things would be very different. People have such a thing with labels, but you don't have to just be one thing or another.

@@nosir2758 as you said people told her , people don't tell or dictate things like that you realize yourself, if someone told you you are a cow person will you just say yh I totally am. Anyways don't really care that much, she can say she's masculine or feminine if she wants......most people have no idea what those actually mean.

@Relaxation space you sound highly bothered🤣🤣but sure sis. Yes, I've met several girls who were tomboys and grew up being told they dressed very masculine, so when people ask they respond "yes I've dressed masculine my whole life" it's really not that hard to understand nor is it that deep🤣🤣

no, it means that you act like a boy and is a derrogatory term. And "masculine" and "feminine" are oposites. You can't be "feminine in a masculine way"
@227Love
@227Love Жыл бұрын
@@mile_851 I’ve been through a tomboy phase, it’s mostly a trauma response of not having a proper masculine or rather male figure, hence wanting to look strong and come off as intimidating in a way. Excluding masculine hobbies. There’s nothing derogatory about it. Also, not having a proper female figure aka mother as well. You can be feminine a masculine way or masculine in a feminine way those are just energies regardless of gender representation.
