It is because of a name in a music software they use. I think they were using it a lot on BITTERSUITE (i think). And the name was, if I'm not mistaken : Hit me soft and hard, but she remebered that way because she thought it was cool

I felt the same way until I stumbled on this lil gem. It to does unfortunately ends but not as fast as this one and your not going to drive everyone else around you crazy having one song on repeat. One thing that I love about Billie is that she rarely does green screens. I saw some footage when she was filming this, and those cars were 100% real. Anyway, this song is one of my favs. I love it.

Woah that bellyache comparison hits hard. It was bright and she was all alone, kinda free (until the cop of course). Plus it was a made up story. To those who didn't know what she was saying, she was singing about the negative side her fame has. She sings about her relationships, her stalkers and how she wished she could disappear and start a new career because of the burden the negativity bares on her shoulders. The cars symbolizes exactly that and how - no matter how hard she tries - can't escape it. Hope that helped somehow

Remember that, while her album is called "Happier Than Ever," she has to tell the story of her past to explain why she's growing to be happier. With the releases so far, I think she's really opening up to us about how bad her state of mind was in the past, even when she was on stage giving us performances and dancing and smiling and reminding us to stay happy. Even the titling track "Happier Than Ever" is referencing that she's happier away from the people who have used and abused her (or their power, for song reference here). I see a lot of people saying she only writes sad songs, but a lot of happiness is built from recovering from pain and letting out past traumas in a healthy way (like song writing) to let others know that it's okay to not be okay sometimes. Not being okay and admitting to that is the first step to actual happiness. I don't see sadness in what she writes, I see genuine honesty. Edit: Thank you all for reading! I hope this album brings all of us a little peace in times of struggle. Here's to being happier than ever. (-:

All the dark stuff that comes with being famous are in this song--explicitly and inexplicitly stated. The dangerous cars are like dodging problems, and they come at her out of no where, fast, at a furious incalculable speed just barely missing her. Had to watch this again because it was confusing the way everything was moving around her so quickly in the dark, but that was the point.

It’s pretty clear judging by the lyrics that she’s just tired of the media and fame, and that she just wants to live her life without judgement. You can also notice this based on the visuals too. I’m guessing with the cars almost hitting her is like implying these media platforms, “near miss on hitting her” with ridiculous accusations and assumptions with relationships and on body shaming. I feel for her, but the way she expresses this through music is absolutely amazing.
