You mean snowwhite a movie that has been adapted to death. Yeah most adaptions are low budget, but what is Disneys argument for a high budget adaption? The original movie was a huge success, because it was the milestone in animation. But live action was already done countless times. Disney however thinks that they can let some ivory tower academics on the source material to squeeze out something. But they will fail. I mean what is the target audience for this movie? People outside of the US will shrug at this movie and think that the americans made another bad movie.

Also, the higher the budger the higher the return has to be to even break even, let alone make a profit. If they do reshoots, CGI over practical affects, and so on then the cost will skyrocket. Whatever they pay they will have to make at least double to break even to take into account the theater's cuts of profits and offsetting advertising.

😂 That's a pretty good description, actually. Half of them just looked... "unkempt" and they didn't look like they even belonged in the same place/time as each other - one had a suit and one had leggins and T-shirt and one was kind of colorful-medieval. Female dwarfs, sure, why not. Dwarfs with a skin color other than white, sure, why not. Dwarfs of different ages, yes, go for it, could make for interesting perspectives. Heck, have a dwarf with a disability who can't work in the mines any longer. Have two dwarfs be a couple, same-sex, if you feel courageous (no chance Disney will do that any time soon). But they have to be DWARFS. And since it's a children's movie and a fairy tale on top of that please make them look cohesive in terms of clothing and somewhat whimsical.

@@user-tz3wq3yo5k Okay, but I'm talking economics. A free market is cruel but very, very fair. The cream rises to the top what is on top may topple and fall as new talent comes and old talent leaves. Based on leaks that have come out Disney practices a horrible film technique called "scrap-booking" where they film a bunch of scenes and then try to make them make sense by putting them in order. They also use test screeners that hate what they are producing, but the showrunners are so ideologically driven that they can't get rid of what people find unpopular, they instead try to recontextualize it, not willing to accept that what they are trying to sell isn't something people want to buy. And every reshoot they do is people paid, CGI artists having to work, stunt doubles doing whatever needs doing, so the price of making the movie increases dramatically. Which means the movie has to do that much better to even have a chance of breaking even. Disney has to make at least double what they spent to make the movie and advertise it when it comes out if they want to break even, if you take into account theaters taking their cut of the profits and taxes. This movie is likely to be ratioed and suck because Disney, as a whole, doesn't have anyone who knows what the audience wants to watch, and they keep doubling down on that which the general audience doesn't want to watch.

I mean, no amount of reshooting the film is going to change the fact that the titual character of the film, you know, the maiden snow white, isn't the fairest in the land. Heck, the queen doesn't even need to cosolt the mirror, since the main character isnt worth trying to kill. Unless they make up some contrived reason like "she was going to marry the prince and become queen of the land, but when the prince was found and nursed back to health by snow white he was so impressed by her that he choose her as his new wife."

Disney wouldn't need geniuses to make/sell their films if they hadn't spent the last decade spitting in the audience's face and *deliberately* giving them the opposite of what they wanted to see. They had several licenses to print money, all of which they chose to set on fire out of spite and ideological insanity. Now, even if they did have a decent film on their hands, somehow, they would still need the best marketers available to convince audiences that this time, it's not a ruse, it's not "subverting expectations", it's actually worth seeing.

I will only give this a watch if Disparu, Critical Dtinker, or Little Platoon recommends it. Maybe Schafrilla too. He can be a bit of a pixie duster at times, but I went to see Inside Out 2 on his recommendation and that was good.

What amazes me is that they managed to spend $250+ million before realizing how bad it would look to not only deride the source material that made Walt’s Disney a household name, but turn their first princess into a socialist leader… in Germany. Somehow no one caught that until the test audience found Zegler’s portrayal of Snow White unbearable (not to say anything negative about Ms. Zegler as an actress; she did pretty well in that Hunger Games prequel with a pretentiously long title). Someone, other than Mattel, has to start stepping in early on to make sure that these films aren’t going to end up being stinkers that leave their stench all over Ollie’s and Five Below stores nationwide.

Clearly Disney didn't learn anything from the failure that was the Little Mermaid and I honestly expect them to get back on their high horse when Deadpool & Wolverine proves to be a major hit, but then it will be back to business as normal, I honestly believe the reason Inside out 2, is preforming well, is because it wasn't green lit by Iger at least in the form we are seeing as the creative sparks aren't really there, Lucasfilm, might as well be a completely seperate company with no connection to Disney at this point as nothing has been done to sort out the problems coming from that part, six films, making less and less each time, a sucessful streaming show, crashes and burns in its third season because of gross mismanagement and then failure of other streaming shows and complete collapse of mech, how is that the sign of a healthy company, if they weren't propped up by Disney with the massive amount of damage done, they would of filed for protection and Kennedy would of been fired along with her Acolytes and the person in charge of the Acolyte TV disaster, would of been fired and the show scrapped and any potential buyers would of likely said after seeing previews "What the heck is this garbage?"

This is not something new . For a last few years there is a sequel or remake . Characters come and go . Some characters stay the same and some don't .

one thing they have going for them here is that Snow White is a mostly female genre. so a feminist message might play. Unlike Star Wars and Marvel which are male genre IPs and feminism just falls flat.

It could have worked; a BEAUTIFUL evil queen, some OLD famous actor as her henchman, an innocent waif Snow White, a group of REAL funny, interesting dwarves and a pretty boy prince. Like in Maleficent. A draw just for the dwarves. It could have been cheap. It is going to make Aquaman2 and Indianna Jones5 look cheap and successful.

They could have cast the tall guy at Disney who portrayed the Evil Queen character. He really pulled off the look, until he spoke. Had he been cast as the Evil Queen in the movie, Disney could have secured the "men who identify as women" demographic. Disney could just hire a female voice over actress for the speaking parts of the movie.

Disney Believes Snow White Could Be a HUGE Winner? They also think The Acolyte is the way to create a HUGE new fanbase, and insulting the existing fans will simply serve to clear the theater seats and subscription rolls for the new woke audiences that are staying away in droves because Disney is freaking WRONG.
