Mr Branch headed the "Blues in Schools" program in Chicago back in the late 70's where he would teach kids about the history of the Blues and taught them to play harmonica and various instruments. I met him when I was in 6th or 7th grade (1977ish) when I was one of his students! We learned how to play some blues standards and we were pretty good (if I do say so myself). Our school band would perform at other schools in the area and once even at the world famous Kingston Mines blues club in Chicago (I remember the late great Willie Dixon being in attendance!). Billy Branch is a blues icon and an amazing person. I'm still friends with him to this day
