wow the speed at which these people speak sometimes, I can't even read that fast lol. I find that I cant understand much when they speak, but only after reading the text do I figure out what they were saying

hey billy! just wondering is it ok to do this course alongside your beginner course or after, thanks :) love from Aus!

You'd want to use this after completing that course, since this course doesn't re-teach things that would've been covered by another beginning level series. But if you're able to keep up then feel free :-)

I'm not sure how long you were studying, but it never hurts to go back to the beginning and quickly make your way back to however far you got up to. I have a free course that teaches all of the basics you can use here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qd5grNyC1tHUoaM.html You can watch the early lessons at 2.0x speed if you've already mastered those parts, and then slow down again once you start to see things you don't already know.

Hey Billy. I understand most of this reading (and get the general gist listening, but not the whole message - it's more difficult than the first 2, lol!), but I didn't understand what the '더라고" part of "저렴하더라고" means. Is it something to do with remembering? I don't remember this being covered in the the first 2 videos. Thanks 🙂

It represents the aspect that the verb has been experienced first-hand by the speaker, the deorago form indicates that the described action was seen first hand by the speaker

It's in the first lesson of this course as well, but you can think of it as a past tense ending (like ~ㅆ어 or ~ㅆ어요) but for things the speaker personally experienced/heard.

@@GoBillyKorean Teacher, the sentence I initially wrote was '이 가방을 산 지 얼마나 됐어요?' However, I wanted to check if it's okay to ask '이 가방을 몇 살이에요?' Unfortunately, I accidentally mistyped it as '이 가방을 몇 차리에요?' on the keyboard, which was interpreted as 'How much is this bag?' So, I got confused about the meaning of the mistyped sentence.

@@Tina07775 살 is used for how old a person is. 한 살 (1 year old), 열 살 (10 years old), etc. Asking how much something costs is with the word 얼마 + 이다 (e.g. 얼마예요?). I actually made a full course on my channel that covers all of this too which you can find for free :-) It has 100 episodes and teaches all of these topics.

This book is worth every cent, I love it and all lessons are very useful. But the book Korean Through Podcasts from 이기연 is a mess. The grammar points which are explained are beginner level, vocabulary is so difficult I must use a dictionary all the time. And the themes are boring and only blablabla. It is the first Korean book which really frustrates me and demotivated me to continue reading it. You should cooperate with younger people. The best beginner lessons are from Yisani Korean. She offers a free 100 page PDF book. And her explanations are easy and she teaches step by step, creative and never boring. A small channel, but maybe the best ever for beginners. The second YT channel I like is Namuori. Her podcasts are clear and she repeats new vocabulary many times in a way, the listener heard them in questions, different time forms and so on. It makes it easy to remember and recognize them later. Maybe you have time to watch their videos and if you also find them interesting, it would be great you could meet them in Korea and make some videos with them.

Korean Through Podcasts is also low level of fonts and design. I worked some years in DTP and for headlines you do not use serif fonts. In text it is bad to use fonts like Arial. If you use Time New Roman in a Headline for a book it looks messy and Arial font in text makes the eyes tired during reading and hard to concentrate. We call this in German Bleiwüste.
