his sister got married and he sat down trying to come up with a new song. "hey little sister what have you done?".. then he just kept working on it over a few days. He mixed in a bunch of other elements. its not really about his sister its about "marriage" .. then "white wedding" like a virgin marriage then evolved into being married to "white" (cocaine) .. "there is noting safe in this world, nothing pure in this world .. ect ect BUT START AGIAN" ended up being a song saying that marriage is risky and it can go bad, just like cocaine is risky and can go bad. You’re right empress, this song is hard to figure out without knowing the story behind it, and the imagery in the video makes it even more confusing. One of Billy’s lovers unexpectedly married another guy without breaking up with Billy first, which took him by surprise. Replace ‘littler sister’ with ‘lover’ or ‘girlfriend’ and it makes a bit more sense. ‘Shotgun’ refers to how fast she went from being his lover to being married to someone else. White wedding is his way of saying that she pretended Billy never existed in her life when she married the other guy.

I can't remember exactly the song's explanation from Billy himself, but it was rather dry. Obviously it has more meaning than what he said. My take is way darker and I'm thinking it's much more perverse. I mean, we're not talking about a choir boy here. He is indeed talking about his little sister and I think the character that he's portraying in the song is one of two kids who grew up rough and had to share a lot of beds together (ah-hum), they're both bad kids now and his sister is all screwed up. She's been married before (hence the sarcastic white wedding) but she's so messed up that it didn't work. The brother has been away but hears about her next marriage and shows up to tell her she's just dreaming about leading a normal life with some normal guy. His sexual growling throughout is telling her, look, I'm the only one who's suited for you. This dream you have is going to collapse and I'll be around when it does because we both know I'm the only one who can understand you. Him jamming the ring on her finger is an acknowledgement of how he knows his relationship with her is destructive, but so be it. Hey! The whole song just steams with sexuality and darkness. I'm just going where it leads me.
