中学生のころ、英語の時間に先生がこの曲を流してくれました。ビリーの曲で初めて聴いた曲。英語で意味が分からなくても何故か涙が出そうだった。歌詞の和訳を知りたくて調べても、当時、幼い私には今ひとつ分からなかった。成長するにつれ、歌詞の意味が分かるようになり、何度も聴くたびに、救われるようになりました。辛い時には癒され、同時に涙が出ました。ビリー、この曲を作ってくれてありがとう。東京のライブで初めて聴いた時は感無量でした。これからも聴き続けます。

Takes me back to 1979. Went fof a darm holiday to my relatives in Shakas Tock. Shakaskraal in Kzn Durban . Summers night in December. 20 of us sitting outside the farmhouse on blankets on the grass. ついこないだ日本にも久しぶりに見えられましたね。見られた方は良かった幸運ですね。この曲も高校時代喫茶店有線からよく流れていました。当時は彼女の行きつけの茶店でコーヒー飲んで煙草互いに吸い大人ぶり他愛のない話をしてたのを思い出します。特に雨の土曜午後からの待合わせ。夕方迄話し、高架前の北田辺駅で南に帰る俺をホーム下から見送るアイツ…過ぎたとはいえ。この歌と共に忘れられないシーン。
