His voice is obviously on point, but the reverb on his voice is ethereal. Also props to Billy for not resorting to using pitch correction like many artists have done once they reach old age
@lunagingeymittens419 Жыл бұрын
Not resorting to pitch correction? Could you explain further how he's not doing that and the difference it makes?
@boglot Жыл бұрын
@@lunagingeymittens419 yeah a lot of singers who are older use auto tune or pitch correction to help them stay in tune, but the problem many people have with that is that the pitch correction technology sounds very synthetic and takes the “soul” out of the vocal take. If you look up a more recent performance of Everybody Wants To Rule The World you’ll see an example of an older artist using very heavy pitch correction
@davidscott1052 Жыл бұрын

Don't go changing to try and please me You never let me down before, mmm Don't imagine you're too familiar And I don't see you anymore I would not leave you in times of trouble We never could have come this far, mmm I took the good times, I'll take the bad times I'll take you just the way you are Don't go trying some new fashion Don't change the color of your hair, mmm You always have my unspoken passion Although I might not seem to care I don't want clever conversation I never want to work that hard, mmm I just want someone that I can talk to I want you just the way you are I need to know that you will always be The same old someone that I knew Oh, but what will it take till you believe in me The way that I believe in you? I said I love you, that's forever And this I promise from the heart, mmm I couldn't love you any better I love you just the way you are, right I don't want clever conversation I never want to work that hard, mmm I just want someone that I can talk to I want you just the way you are

🔸I just started thinking about this captivatingly beautiful, romantic song even though it's been so long since I've heard it. Billy Joel wrote this song about his first wife, Elizabeth. A pure expression of unconditional love, he gave it to her as a birthday present. Sadly, after nine years of marriage, Joel and Elizabeth divorced in 1982.
