I love the intro... that riff sounds so cool especially with javors playing those loud clanking short chords or double stops on his telecaster, very steely sound... and dave's strat sounds so great too

Joel wrote this in the style of 60s doo-wop and Motown but ended up a tribute of sorts to Tony Orlando!

After searching… I’m pretty positive he doesn’t do this one live anymore. There are a few hits that he does only here and there but I can’t seem to find any live ones of this song after this Wembley show. Definitely nothing recent.

I guess nobody but him knows why. One of his long lasting live band musicians told in an interview "there is no way to make him play Tell Her About It" Live

@@indigojc I googled it and he said in an interview a long time ago he doresn't like the song. Strange as I believe his biggest hit in US
@gregbreslin35792 жыл бұрын
I heard Billy say in an interview that this song works well in the concept of the album “An Innocent Man” but as a stand alone song he thinks it sounds like Tony Orlando and Dawn. It’s a shame because it is such a great song and the audience would love it if he played it live. It would make a great encore song too!
@indigojc Жыл бұрын
@@gregbreslin3579 definitively, I never though of that. A great encore song.

Back when a musician or band would get signed because they knew how to write songs and would grind it out on the road putting in actual work. Now, you just need a twitter or insta followers and a pretty mug. What a sad, sad state in the music industry. What makes it even worse is the dinosaurs running the major labels bought into it because they only care about money and now the crap that is being put out is totally forgettable. Gone are the days of your Billy Joel’s, the Police’s, U2’s or any band or singers that labels work with and develop. Still waiting for the next Duran Duran. Not gonna happen. Is there a Duran Duran out there? You better believe it but they’re probably in their late 20’s or early 30’s and that is way too old. Does anybody remember Dire Straits? They were once one of the biggest bands on earth and they were not the best looking group of people. If didn’t matter because they wrote some great f@cling music!!!! Eddie Money? What’s up with stroke mouth? Who cares, he’s got a dope voice and great songs. Huey Lewis?? Dude looked like a carpenter. Didn’t matter. Bryan Adams had horrible acne scars on his face but he still had 2 number 1 songs and 9 top 10 hits according to billboard. It’s time that these old farts running these major labels start listening to demos again with their eyes closed so that the magic of a great song or a great voice can be the main focus of the next big thing.
