Just for those of us that remember Billy and the Aztecs. My brother and I were in a band called The Mixed Minds and I remember those days so well. Like the song Rock and Roll I gave you the best years of my life but I was always one step behind. Always loved your music Billy will never forget you. Part of my growing up.

Exactly 100 years ago 62.000 Australian Men had been killed fighting in WW1 fighting and dying for others Countries that had been invaded or threatened to be. Another 155.000 Australia (mostly young Men) where dying from horrific wounds also fighting and dying for 'OTHERs' 'FREEDOM'. Julian Assange also is an Australian 'MAN' fighting for others lives and freedoms.

This was part of a national tour called Long Way To The Top. This show featured many artists from the 1960's and 70's. Billy had a big hand in organising the show and reformed his original early 1960's line up of the Aztecs in appropriate dress. This was in 2002.

We played Billys":song, "Over The Rainbow", 15 year sago at my Nans"funeral. She always loved it, as I do and want itt played at mine. Love You, Billy, Lynne XXX

In the 60s both Billy Thorpe and Ray Brown performed at The Beach House and Billy at Surf City. They both left us too young and sudden . The left us some music.

Going to watch all my Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs 'cos it was my birthday last Monday, and now I have a 3 day weekend 'cos of football. Australia. Please do not invade on our day off. Other wise we will be pissed off and the world does not want another pissed off country. Slipped this in because Billy knew that we all could work together.

I was there at the Melbourne Concert Long Way to the Top. Great show and I have the DVD as well. Top memories. I liked this song so much I recorded it one night after a few red wines....

I know I'm biased but bugger Judy Garland. Billy has always done a better version, no matter how he presents it. Will always be in my memory as the best rock vocalist in Aussie music.

Golly! I visited Surf City with my older brother and his mates, we drove down to Sydney from Cowra NSW, in an old Holden ute I sat in the back of the ute, as there were no room in the front with my brothers mates. (Try that now!) I was about 12 at the time. Never forgot that day. Every one was doing the "STOMP" I don't know who was the band but it left an lasting impression.

This is too confusing for me. When did Billy revert back to his 1960's look. Every video I've seen since the 70's and up until his death he has had the long hair and mustache. When was this taken??
