What's crazy about this performance is that Billy Valentine was 89yrs old when he done this performance. He's now 94 and still got it!! Bad man right there!

He ain't Billy Valentine the jazz pianist & singer born in 1926! He's Billy Valentine from Valentine Brothers welll known for being writers and original perfomers of "Money's too tight to mention" smash hit. He also wrote for many artists such as Neville Bros ConFunkShun & Ray Charles.

You're confusing him with jazz singer/pianist Billy Valentine who was born in 1925. This Billy Valelntine is 74 years old in 2024. He was 67 when this performance was recorded. Still phenomenal!!

For everyone thinking that Billy Valentine is in his 90's, and 89 when this video actually aired, you are incorrect. He is 73 in 2023, which is still impressive how strong his voice is here.

Grew up thinking Eddie Cane was a real person. Me and my cousin was in a deep debate about this right here. We tryin to see out of us who was the lead and who was Choir Boy!! This has taken me back.. childhood was great to me with beautiful music like this.As a child we sang this as we acted out the movie line for line with dance steps.

One of my all time favorite movies! The Dells sang for the movie. Just go to the very end after most of the credits 🤗

They were the source of inspiration and helped with the direction, but they did not sing anything on the movie. Billy Valentine was Eddie King's voice and four other session singers were the voices. There is a behind the scenes video on the dvd special edition that shows clearly who sang on the movie.
